Proposed ASP .NET / C# Project

Mga migo and miga,

I am planning to have a group project for those who are interested in learning ASP .NET using C# or those who just want to hangout with fellow developers. Pwede bisag unsa na project na malingaw ta using .NET technologies. This is also a good avenue for students and professionals who wants to learn and contribute their skills.

here's a nice project pare. if you have seen PICASA, yung desktop version sa photo album software sa google. nice ang mga latest features, included ang face recognition, automatic face tagging. if you want, you can use EMGU for the facial recognition part, tapos, c# for windows sa desktop, at asp.net (c#) for a web platform. magandang project yan pare. pero may ginagawa na ako ngayon kaso C++ yung main code q, tapos yung original na OPENCV ginamit ko sa facial recognition na part, significant kasi yung speed decrease sa .net when it comes to facial recognition. hindi naman gaanong mahirap ang EMGU gamitin, may sample projects pa nga. you just need c# (visual studio 2008, mas mabuti). hence, you can make one like PICASA for the web and desktop.

ok pud ni, pero basig naa pa lain idea diha. kay murag reinventing the wheel ra man kaayo ni. unya if we start from scratch with purely our own codes, murag dako dako jud ni siya nga trabahoon. then ang atong output is something nga naa nay nag.exist..pero nindot ni siya, daghan jud ta makat.onan ani nga bag.o, if we decide to do this

follow up lang q bai, dli man sad jud dako ang i-reinvent nato ani. as i said, sa facial recognition na part, care of na xa sa Emgu CV (a cross platform .Net wrapper to the Intel OpenCV image processing library. Allowing OpenCV functions to be called from .NET compatible languages such as C#, VB, VC++, IronPython etc. The wrapper can be compiled in Mono and run on Linux / Mac OS X., tapos ang OpenCV, OpenCV (Open Source Computer Vision) is a library of programming functions for real time computer vision.). pero i agree na dako2 jud ni xa na trabahon for something that already exist, but i have to stress bai, wala pa ga exist na opensource na project ani, so medyo bago gihapon ang trend, and that a lot of people will definitely learn a lot from this project. anyway, im just suggesting this. i hope sad na we can also find something much more interesting na project.

Create a free set of WebServices targetting an area of business here sa Cebu.

Example:
Tracking WebService, if you guys want I can setup a Microsoft Team Server machine para ma centralize ang code and people with access can work on it. The code will be proprietary and will not be sold commercially or leaked out.
Like sa LBC, Johnny Air, Air21 etc kay kapoy cge tawag follow up sa atong packages.

Focus on 3 main functions lang sa:
1. addShipmentInformation - adds tracking information
2. updateShipmentInformation - updates the current location and progress of a current system
3. viewShipmentHistory - queries the database for the history of a shipment

We can add GPS tagging, more functionalities. Someone very good with relational database should make the schema preferably in Microsoft Visio then post nato Google docs para maka kita ang tanan.

If I see that the project is good and working, I will host it for free on my servers.
