A papal permission granted in the 1800s exempts them from this duty, in recognition of the fact that Bantayan fishermen do not set out to sea for seven days so as to participate fully in the Lenten rites -- their penance for the season. <- taken from lots of online articles about Bantayan.

or you can call the Bantayan Municipality or ask rctv to rerun their episodes about Bantayan where Vince Escario was explaining about it.

mas maau jud kng friday morning mo adto ky nice ila procession..wala lng ko kaabot ato when i was there ky friday night nko naabot stranded ko ug 2 hours sa wharf ky last trip nila was 6pm nya nihit kau byahe ato. ambot lng kaha karon ubay2 ba....
