what the philippines needs at the moment is counter insurgency weapons to be used against the NPA/MILF/Abu Sayyaf. we are not in trouble with other neighboring countries so scratch lang sa na mga fighter jets. funds are scarce so practicallay lang unta.

what we is the A-10 Thunderbolt attack aircraft primarily used for Close Air Support for our ground troops. its nicknamed the tank killer during the gulf war but this can be also used against bunkers which the MILFs do construct in their camps.



adding Apache helicopters in the PAF arsenal will also help our ground troops.



our battle scenario is jungle/mountain based man gud so needed jud ground troops ang ipadala. in order for our ground troops to succeed, much needed close support from the air force is vital.

ok pud ang Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicles. maka karga ug infantry units as well as nindot pud ug arsenal.

We don't need those fancy aircraft and tanks to fight our insurgents. It's rendered useless in our terrain and manpower, plus, how can we afford to buy such weaponry?. I think military intelligence should be the key. Remember the elite Philippine Marine division handled by Seban, who track down and kill the ASG? That's how our AFP should do it.

Don't mind if our country will be underattack if WW3 starts. Because the Americans know that our country is still a strategic point in the pacific.

Bitaw. Pwera na nang mga high-tech weaponry. The thick jungle canopy in insurgent-infested areas negates a lot of the advanced technology anyway. It's about boots on the ground.

I was talking to some military people last week and we had an interesting talk about doctrine. Military intelligence IS the key for our armed forces. Because the AFP is so short in resources, it is "intelligence-driven." That is, it can't afford to keep troops and assets (planes, boats, vehicles) deployed for lengthy spells hoping they will make contact with the enemy. Rather, it needs to build up intelligence and then deploy troops in the most effective manner.
