Hey guys, can I slip in about the thread...If you really wanna know about Bushcraft and survival thread, why don't you know join the Marines-Reserve. They conduct annual survival and mountaineering training amongst their reservist. The bad part is that, once you join them, you really get to undergo rigid basic training and participate in a lot of civil-military missions. They really teach you a lot there and even send you to other schoolings and trainings and even Balikatan once you prove to yourself that you deserve to be a Marine. Why don't you guys give it a try...who knows, you might be a Marine inside yourselves waiting to be unleashed....

Yes, civilians..well, that's where they get they're troops for the regular troops and that's where they're getting for their reserve force as well. The Philippine Marine-Reserve is quite different from other reserve components of the AFP. They really make use of their assets, meaning Human assets. But, still, you have to pass thru the hardships and boredom to become one. Its not like in the movies that you get to shoot bad guys and return home with a medal. Its really hardwork like you have to be ready during disasters and calamities and God forbids...martial law or War. The members of this unit was not force at gunpoint to sign up, they've all voluntered, so when you are called, you must be ready. Anyways, I'm not coercing anyone to join, this thread is all about bushcraft and survival craft, I was merely suggesting to you guys in this thread how and where to learn more of it. These craft is like breakfast for the Marines including the reserves. Just so you all know..

Are you PM reserve? Are you looking for recruits? Sorry, this is not the place. Most of us have civilian jobs and we are not in the position to change careers at a time when fulfilling jobs are scarce. I'd rather take breakfast in my own pace and comfort than taking breakfast under ten counts.

Besides the military doesn't have the know-it-all capacity and practicality of bushcraft and survival. They borrowed it from native craft and added a few things. Basically, we are on the same path minus the regimentation which is unnecessary.

I'm not here to recruit, I'm not also a PM reserve. Again, as I've said, to add meaning of this thread, I was just merely suggesting. The military does not have the know-it-all capacity but they do train you how to survive out there when nobody could. Especially our armed forces which does not have the luxury of Meals-ready-to-eat(MREs), you have to look for your own food, medicines and shelter available in the bushes. Have you seen, Man versus Wild? he does came from the Military. Additionally, the Marine Basic School in Ternate, Cavite enlisted Aetas and other indigenous Filipinos long way back so they could teach our troops about professional tracking, bushcraft, survivalcraft and herbal medicines. I know we all have jobs and are clinging to dear life of what ever job we have BUT you don't have to change career...as I've said, again and again..If you really want to know more about this craft, the Marines, reserve or active, is ONE, of the best place to learn of it for free.
