I got a question for you. I have win 7 ultimate 64-bit installed on 4 gig RAM. I've been playing around with the Virtual XP mode, so far I have 3 installed. 1 is for my actual use, the other 2 virtual machines are for testing purposes, and I can just delete these virtual machines when I'm done playing with them and I'll leave one for use. My question: Is there a limit to the, and if there is what is the maximum, number of virtual machines that I can install on my system, with only 4 gig of RAM? thanks...

wow! my first reply and then nosebleed dayon! hehehe! anyways i deal mostly with set-up issues but we also do support general assist for chat so let me answer ur question to the very best of my knowledge... there should be no limit in the number of virtual machines that you run on your system as long as the 4GB of RAM can still accomodate it! coz technically speaking each virtual machine uses Memory too... so when your memory is all used up then that means either ur system runs slow or it will freeze! The answer here is all based on my knowledge and i can be wrong... give me 24 hours to get in touch with our counterpart in MS to answer your question but this is really helpful and i really appreciate it! this is definitely something i can cascade to my team!

i see. yeah, i figured as much pero i was curious lang pud if windows 7 had its limit aside from just RAM limitations. it's fun to be able to change the ram assigned to each virtual machine, but so far i haven't really noticed any difference on the virtual machine if i assign 512 mb or 1024 mb ram... and it doesn't slow down my machine too, and i am a real multitasker so i'll know when it slows down. but i'm testing a lot of stuff. i'll be sure to ask if i encounter other issues with win 7.

True! True! and yes, Windows 7 is far more superior than any other operating system although Windows XP is one of the proven and tested OS up-to-date... however, Windows XP cannot come closer to W7's graphical user interface so upgrading your PC is definitely worth every penny you spend! and by the way a shoutout goes to wh3n, i am really glad that you like Win7 a lot and according to our counterpart in MS about the limit, he said exactly the same thing! since you're really into tweaking and multitasking, try using the system image option in back-up and restore! When things become unstable then go for system image and it will work like magic! peace out and i will look forward to any issues you might be encountering in the future... para sad ma address nato sa windows 8 or 9 or 10 and so on and so forth! hahahaha! ^_^

Is there any difference in the structure of the drive c: directory in a 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 7? like the Programs files, is there also a Programs Files(x86) folder in a 32 bit Windows 7? If possible can someone post a screen shot of the c: directory. Thanks..

there is no differnce, but as far as im concerned there are two Program files folder, one for the x86 (32bit) and another for the x64 (64bit).

if you are installing a 32 bit application/software, it goes to the x86 program files,. 64bit programs go to the x64 program files.

but the rest in directory structure, same ra.
