Rumor: PSP 2 to have Quad Core graphics chip, powerful as Xbox
Rumors are pointing to the new PSP 2 having a Quad core graphics chip which will have technology to match the original Xbox. Apparently, the PSP 2 is in development and this should not be confused with the PSP Go.
It’s being reported that the PSP 2, a completely new next-gen PSP is in the works and will feature a Quad Core Graphics chip and have technology to match an Xbox.
In the run up to the PSP go rumours were abuzz of a PSP 2, with many confused over whether Sony was planning to unveil a brand new platform or an upgrade. Very soon it became clear Sony was only upgrading the PSP range before unveiling the UMD-less PSPgo.

PSP Firmware 6.00 BETA Released to Official Developers
greg | August 29, 2009
Released to legitimate/licensed PSP developers is firmware 6.00 beta. It’s clear Sony has taken the motherly role in protecting their newborn: the PSPgo. PSPGEN, who we all know and trust, shed some light on the 6.00 situation…
PSP Firmware 6.00 BETA Screenshot
Sony has no doubt performed a serious firmware audit plugging all known vulnerabilities — even unpublished kernel exploits — found in the current firmware versions, which of course leaves their new hand-held much harder to hack; or any [newer] PSP that is upgraded to 6.00+ for that matter. Those are the details we know right now. We’ll keep you posted.

PSP Firmware 6.10 Released *Updated*
greg | September 30, 2009
Update: And here it is… PSP Firmware Update 6.10.
Look at Sony acting all cool with their new firmware update… *Razor Ramon’s a toothpick* In our world it’s Yoshihiro and his 5.55/6.00 Games Decrypter. Join us, see what’s up.
But for real, Sony is preppin’ to release their 6.10 firmware update, which is of course aimed towards new PSPgo owners. Check it, from the L-Man himself:
PSP update (v6.10) will be available soon. This is a big update for us in preparation for the launch of PSPgo. New PSPgo owners should make sure to download the update to ensure full compatibility with MediaGo and with all PSP titles. Here are some of the key features we’ll be introducing:
SensMe
SensMe channels is a new music application for PSP that uses Sony’s proprietary 12 Tone Analysis technology to evaluate music tracks that have been imported from Media Go application on your PC to your PSP. The application automatically categorizes the tracks into 12 channels such as “Relax” or “Newly Added”. Check out the walk-thru demo to see how it works.
PSP Exploit Found for All PSP Models; Works on FW 6.20 Too!
No videos, no files — just straight facts… My main man, pspjoke, with the assistance of n00b81, has stumbled upon a vulnerability and has fully exploited it. My word; I’ve tested it myself. A few other fortunate folk have as well.
The facts: this save game user-mode hack works on firmware 6.20 and all PSP models, including the 3000 and the PSPgo. That said — it’s obviously a downloadable title. But I won’t go there… We’re under strict orders that we must honour and obey to keep the balance of power intact. Just know unsigned code is indeed running.
Furthermore, an eLoader is planned; pspjoke is working on it. You can follow this thread for ongoing development and discussion surrounding said exploit.
Good lookin’ out pspjoke, n00b81… Much respect.
Hi Cooldude,
What if the firmware is 6.0, is there possibilility to unlock this version? Because this is the current version available on my new PSP. Please advice. TIA
PSP 6.20 SAVEDATA Exploit Released
PSP 6.20 SAVEDATA Exploit Released
greg | March 28, 2010
While my PSPgo is charging, I’ll let you try it… By way of YouTube: Malloxis’ 6.20 SAVEDATA Exploit. The game, or demo actually: Patapon 2. I believe the demo is freely distributable so we’ll host it.
Malloxis mentions an eLoader (Homebrew Loader) will follow.
Update: My PSPgo experience… Copied the “UCUS98732_DATA02″ directory to PSP/SAVEDATA and the demo “UCUS98734″ to PSP/GAME. Copied “h.bin” to the root directory. Started the game and selected Continue, then selected the hacked save, and I’ve been staring at a “now loading” screen since… For quite awhile now… It’s not crashed; I can press “Home” and exit to the XMB. No other keys do anything though. Just sits there… “now loading…” Anyone else have any luck?
Update: I can confirm the exploit works fine on my PSP-2000. Nice job Malloxis, m0skito, N00b81, and Wololo. Thanks for the release too. Not sure what’s up with my PSPgo… It’s just a never-ending “now loading” screen. Others confirm that their PSPgo works though.
Update: Works on my PSPgo! I re-downloaded the Patapon 2 demo from PSN and voila! That worked fine. So I can 100% confirm this exploit both on my PSPgo and PSP-2000. Again — nice job team!
