The hands-on preview!
Like many, I was a bit skeptical when Lionhead announced Fable III's plans to depart from its role-playing roots for a heaver focus on the "action" portion of the series' tried action-RPG formula. Fable was never a strict skill-building and attribute-assigning experience to begin with, but I wasn't sure how well it would survive the leap to more action-oriented gameplay. I'm very happy to say that it's not only survived said leap, but embraced it, as well as the challenges offered in making nearly ever aspect infinitely more accessible. It's still far too early to judge how well many of the announced ideas -- such as the aforementioned inheritance to the throne of Albion -- will play into the final product, but I remain hopeful that Lionhead will continue to innovate in thoughtful ways that resonate with and affect players as deeply as intended.

too bad it'll get obliterated by cross platforming Dragon Age 2.
*very bitter at Fable 2 and 3 being XBOX exclusive games*
