As previously stated, I am for salary increase. Who would not want that, anyway? But we should analyze more the consequences of our actions because it might lead to more suffering.

I dont think the legislated wage hike should treat all the companies equally. I think the law will provide exemptions based on graduated scales of income of the employers.

But that increase of wages is long overdue and I think if the government is really sincere in helping the workers, they have to be serious about implementing it. The problem of underpaid workers is real and I think the government must act now.

As such, it will only result to lost of job of many.

A balance should really be reached in order to answer the need of both the employers and the workers.
Those companies should upgrade their services. Im sure nga naa jud mga ganansiya aning mga small time kuno nga establishments. Im sure they can afford to pay that much. Asa man mo mag negosyo, sa singapore or hongkong? Mas dako didto ila minimum wage, 900 to 1,200 pesos/day equivalent. Im sure this will change the country a lot. We will become progressive kay the workers will be encourage to work with honesty and integrity. Give your workers a chance to live with a standard living naman.
Kindly read carefully the previous posts. No one here is against a salary increase. We just want everybody to keep their jobs.
For me what you mean, means the same thing. You are not against salary increase but you want to keep your job. Means the same to me. Workers should strive more to find a job now coz we have the reason now.

FOR lack of time, the House of Representatives will no longer approve on third and final reading a bill seeking a 125-peso across-the-board wage increase for workers in the private sector before Congress adjourns on June 7, House Majority Floor Leader Prospero Nograles told INQ7.net on Tuesday.
This means that the bill will have to wait until the new Congress opens in July.

"We can't [approve the wage bill]. We need three days after [which] printed copies are distributed to House members since the wage hike is not certified [as an] urgent bill," Nograles said in a text message.

Nograles’ statement came a day after National Economic Development Authority chief Romulo Neri warned of higher unemployment in the country.

Neri issued his statement after the House approved the wage bill on second reading last week.

Bayan Muna Representative Teodoro Casiño suspected that the House leadership was dilly-dallying on the measure because of Neri's remarks.

The workers could now kiss their hopes goodbye. The government had a change of heart.

Im really really sure with that.
