im using the pro actinic light.i used to have the metal halides but couldnt stand the alagaes build up in my tank. but theyre really good for corals but i just bought the same one as the metal halides but just a bit lower wattage cause with my metal halides...ive had problems with some of my corals.some of them had a CORAL BLEACHING due to strong lighting.
some said it will but using metal halides wont do any good, for some corals it works pretty well but with some that doesnt need much light, its a pain in the ass esp to my hard corals. half of my tank used to all turned white, and so i did change my bulbs for some experimenting...i had a pink and white one, unfortunately my corals turned the same.PINK!!!! so then i know its from the lights. then i started looking for a better lights and the one i've got finally makes them happy. but i had to take the bleached ones out and have them treated.
