sakto diay... dili kaayo acurate ang forehand ni federer sa clay...

It's not about accuracy either.... Federer's forehand is as accurate in clay as with any other type of surface. CLAY COURTS just gives the opponent more time to chase the ball, set-up, wind-up, and return.
Players who takes the ball early like Federer can't capitalize that much with their semi-flat strokes because clay-court specialists can almost always get the ball back. They're gonna be 10 feet behind the behind the baseline on a full defensive stance pero they can get the ball back making the opponent take an extra shot to win the point.

That's why FITNESS is a big factor sa clay court. I hate what ATP tennis did about re-writing the rule about fitness... players suffering from cramps can call for injury time out. They should've stuck with the old rule. Conditioning is part of the game, players suffering from cramps shouldn't be allowed to get timeouts, it's a bit too unfair for other players who worked hard on their conditioning to only lose to someone who's taking 5 timeouts on the 5th set.

    ----

    The claycourt specialist:

    Awesome footwork
    Quick on the court
    Big looping backswing
    Weak netgame
Fit and well-conditioned.. can last long rallies and 5 sets

Reasons why Nadal is slightly better than Federer on Clay:

Federer's serve get's neutralized because of the court's pace..
Nadal can chase down his groundcourt winners
Federer's net game also gets choked because you can rarely do a good approach shot on clay ... Bisag gikan pa sa pikas side si Nadal.. because of his speed, he can run down an approach shot, get a clear look at Federer's position sa net, and hit a passing shot or an offensive lob.

    Awesome footwork
federer definitely has this ability.. and is good at that.. aside from a powerful forehand, he's also known for his awesome footwork as described above.. but awesome footwork doesn't necessarily mean quickness.. as with this point, a disadvantage for federer against nadal compared side by side.. mas paspas si nadal sa clay..

pero ngano man nga murag daghan man ug unforced errors si federer adtong match nilang nadal sa roma?

Mas paspas si Nadal period, not only on clay .. mao nga when you play against these type of players (Chang, Hewitt, Coria, Kuerten, etc...) you can't take your eyes off the ball until the point ends. Mo ingon ka nga "di na ni ma apas" pero ma abtan ra diay gihapon.

Footwork is footwork... quickness and speed is another thing, mao nga I didn't combine both when I posted it. Footwork is a factor in clay kay mainly, this is the only surface where you can EFFECTIVELY slide, hit the ball and go back into position. You can slide on grass. and you can also slip and fall.

FISH... When you play against a quick player man gud, you force winners, you're pressured to make winners ... you make low percentage shots to force a winner. That's one of the factors why you make unforced errors. Another thing is maybe you have an off-day... you can't pull your shots together... then you make unforced errors.

Lisod kaayo pildehon si Nadal sa Clay... iyang game groomed for Clay kaayo... ang naka nindot lang sab sa iyang duwa kay he's very adaptable nga he can play in any surface sab.

sa kang Federer sab, complete iyang game.. even more complete than Sampras. That's why bisag sa clay, lig-on gihapon siya. Tan-aw nako sila ang mag-abot sa finals.
