How to become a Moderator?

I believe the most recent moderators have been chosen by BeoR and I. Moderators have given suggestions in the past. At one time, we had several members becoming moderators at one time, but that hasn't happened recently.

I chose YJOB and I can tell you now, that he has been helping for a long, long time with another name. Choosing to help because you might get rewarded with mod status pretty much ensures that you aren't going to be a moderator. When I choose a moderator, I tell BeoR, and he either agrees or disagrees. We proceed from there. The question really is ... how do we choose? ... I could tell you, but I'd have to kill you.
