XP is already in its Extended Support Phase. For now it receives critical security updates (but no additional features). It will officially be out of scope of MS support by 2014.

With the huge install base of XP (especially corporations that don't find Vista or 7 compelling), I think people will sting hang around a bit longer to the OS. Heck, even our company still has Windows 2000 workstations chugging around. Hard driver manufacturers will still find ways to get their products working on XP, either through firmware modification or software hacks.

@TS thanks for the info. Yes they were all right guys since the will upgrade the HDD's capabilities and of course it will turn out to be the huge steps to new generation OS.

    Its simply like this.

Old HDD = XP and new OS
New HDD = Windows 7 and later

But what about SSD can it support or can be used for windows xp?
