Coffee is one of the most studied products in the world.
Caffeine’s effect on pregnancy has been extensively researched. However, the results of research are controversial. It is supposed, that coffee can contribute to miscarriage, low birth weight, premature birth and stillbirth.
The question of coffee drinking safety during pregnancy causes many disagreements. Doctors are split on what this means for pregnant women, with some advising avoiding caffeine altogether and others saying caffeine-containing beverages are still safe in moderation.
And though a lot is not clear in the question of coffee safety, it is authentically known, that:
- Caffeine readily crosses the placental barrier.
- Clearance of caffeine is slower in pregnant vs non pregnant women.
- The fetus has low levels of enzymes which break down caffeine, so fetal metabolism of caffeine is delayed.
sako nahibal-an not good for pregy specialy sa baby... klaro naman siguro why dili pwede...
definitely its a no no! cafeine is bad for the baby
Caffeine crosses the placenta to your baby. Although you may be able to handle the amounts of caffeine you feed your body, your baby cannot. Your baby's metabolism is still maturing and cannot fully metabolize the caffeine. Any amount of caffeine can also cause changes in your baby's sleep pattern or normal movement pattern in the later stages of pregnancy. Remember, caffeine is a stimulant and can keep both you and your baby awake.
cafeine can be found also on teas and other sodas not just coffee water water water is safe for the baby!
please do not drink. grabe ang effect ng caffeine sa baby. that includes iced tea and softdrinks too. haayyyy i understand that it is probably difficult but if you love the baby.... then you won't.
i am a coffee addict hehe. was hard but worth it gyud.
one reason is that coffee weakens you bone. it also eats a lot of calcium and pregnant women need a lot of calcium they need to have strong bones. as you can see most ob give or ask pregnant women to drink a lot of milk.
