if i were to choose sad, Nikon man jud akoa. pero sa mga di pa kaabot ang budget, Tamron & Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 are good alternatives.

If both are available in any of Cebu's camera shops (Gizmo, Photoshop, Pixel Pro, and soon Aperture Trading?), try them out. Nothing beats handling the lens yourself and seeing the pictures in your LCD.

Take me for example, I researched the Canon 35mm f/2 and decided not to get it because of the many reviews that said it's noisy, has slow AF, and isn't built well. When I had my cam cleaned at Canon, I saw a 35mm f/2 on display and asked to test it. Naka-decide dayon ko na it would be my next AF prime (wala nako prime after selling the Nifty Fifty).

In short, to see is to believe bai. Of course, research is good too kay if there are enough people that say a gear isn't good, then the possibility that it isn't is high.

    Good luck.

try the sigma 30 1.4...its simply better
also consider the 50 1.4 sigma...way better than the nikon or canon offering...i wouldnt have believed it until i got one for myself, its just great!
tuesday i should have both in stock for testing at gizmo cybergate as well as the 70-200 2.8 sigma.
the tamron end of the week pa cguro maabot ang test unit if not next week na.

Hi Mark Were you lucky to get a good copy of the 30 1.4 or did you do the return/calibrate/replace tango? I've done my research re said lens and yes, it beats Canon's antique 35mm f/2 if we get a good copy, otherwise prepare daw to return multiple copies to get a good one. I'm not sure if I'm ready for the hassle.

ive sold many 30 1.4 all have been very happy...i have my stuff pretested before shipped here...else i have it replaced/recalibrate...warranty man sad no problem and most new higher cameras have microadjustments so its becoming more of a none issue.

i dont have 30 myself only the 50 full frame n all...
