I was giving my dogs dry kibble in the U.S...the best was Solid Gold Wolf King, pero when we arrived here in Cebu I switched them to Canadae cuz there is none here. Because I have three pits, it was mahal, costing me 2,100 for a 30 lb bag every two weeks. But most importantly I was not happy with Canadae because it had mga meat by-products compared with Wolf King which the first ingredient is Bison (like Carabao here). My APBT Barqs developed skin problems because of fungus in the soil, so under the advice of my vet (Dr. Zialcita from Wellness Clinic who is very good), I switched all of them to the BARF diet which is raw meat and vegetables. Barqs' skin is getting better and all of dogs love it. I buy raw meat (chicken (neck and backs), baticulon (gizzard), liver, tripe, "kabaw", and mix it with all sorts of vegetables (I buy all my veggies in Carbon which is very cheap). I boil the meat for three minutes with kalamansi to kill the bacteria. I also put kelp (can be bought in this Japanese grocery in Banilad), garlic, fish oil, and vitamin c daily in their food. Their coat is shining and they are healthy. Dr. Zialcita said all his patients on the BARF diet rarely get sick. So if it may be expensive (I still don't know how much it is costing me), in the long run one saves money spending for the vets. I am very pleased with the BARF diet as all my dogs are very healthy. By the way, Vitamin C is excellent for the immunities of dogs and humans of course. Because of the size of my dogs (50 to 61 lbs) I give them 500 mg per day. Best to buy the TimeC Vitamin C which does not irritate their stomachs. Another vet told me that Vitamin C with anti-biotics saved a puppy from Parvo. Hope my experience helps you all. ang ako gamit run wa ko kahibalo sa brand. hehehehe. pero pinalit naku siya sa pet n' such. repacked naman ni. dili same size, ambot kung sinagol or ingon ani jud. but okay ra man sad.
