lito is just making a big fuzz over it to gain media mileage.
exactly. the ad would still go on air in Cebuano. ABS-CBN Manila requested a Tagalog translation for a review and archiving purposes maybe. its that simple. if Atan Guardo was able to comply, why cant Lito O?

    Good point there.

that's the point. Lito O sued ABS-CBN (an influential network according to you) and Cebu dailies wrote the story and Im sure it made into the papers in other parts of the country as well. and that's for free! what a genius move by Lito O's adviser. cheap lang paminawon. hehe

what if Lito O have sued CCTN? Im sure nobody would give a damn. perhaps not even a thread here in istorya. hehe
so you think that lito o would dare jeopardize his candidacy and fight with ABSCBN(a big industry)? if you were lito, knowing ABS_CBN's range of influence and knowing that fighting this giant will destroy your name, you think doing this(at this crucial point where you are running for a seat in senate) is a wise move?
just to get the ears of people you know, in this kind of scenario, you may not earn in the long run?

i agree... but i also agree that ABSCBN was so unproffesional to receive the payment and issue a receipt nga dili man diay nila ma air. they should have presented and explained the right guidelines before receiving the infomercial and payment. yes it may be simple to us, but to a national candidate whom I presume is thinking about what they call as "campaign timing" this is serious.

i would not fully agree yet that ABSCBN showed discrimination in language, but they surely have a neglecting and unproffesional kind of customer service. and usa pud... according to the paprs they notified Lito's camp Feb 9 when it was supposed to be aired feb 10..you think that's fairplay?

In today's Sun.Star, Lito Osmena admits:

    - He is behind Serge O in the surveys
    - He has been focusing his campaign on the countryside
    - He wants rectification and respect for the Cebuano language (in reference to his suit against ABS-CBN)

i would vote for him even before this controversy. I am a cebuano and I grew up taking possitive advantage of the progress he made here. if it werent for him i wouldnt be as comfortable living in cebu, a province, knowing that in this country the term "province" is always inferior and a laughing stack of the main(karon dili na siguro kaayo mamatikdan kay mga taga-main naman pud ganahan muanhi sa cebu tungod sa atong calma yet productive nga lifestyle). ang ako lang, gusto pud ko nga matagamtaman sa ubang probinsya ang ka-comportable sa panginabuhi sa mga cebuano nga dili na sila kinahanglan mu dayo pa aron lang maka baton ug decente nga panginabuhi. ug walay lain makamao, sincero ug tested candidate nga mu guide sa uban provinces towards security, siya ra. Cebu is enjoying a rich and secure industry and it started from him. so even if wa ni nga issue, sa walay pag-duha duha mu botar ko ni emilio osmeña.
