2 memory slots are enough if youre using 32 bit os and only enthusiasts use multiple gpu's. if youre a casual or mid end user, those things are unecessary. it would be wiser to invest in a decent powersupply than investing in a high end mobo ending but not using its features and sacrifice the powersupply because the budget is cut short due to the price of the mobo.

this is the reason why sa akoa core i7 build msi x58m lang akoa mobo, why would i choose over the rampage gene, or evga x58 micro if what i need is all in the msi x58m

msi x58m and asus rampage gene price difference of around 4.5 k
msi x58m and evga x58 micro price difference of around 3.5k
base sa inquire price na nako sa akoa palitan
sa price difference pa lang daan kapalit nako og silverstone st50f 500w modular psu hehehe

    take note also

daghan mo ingon dali daw maguba msi motherboard, but as for me based on experience
by exact model ang dapat likayan dili tanan dali maguba, and this mobo has served me well
na overclock niya ang i7 920 at 3.6 ghz at a breeze using stock cooler at with in specs settings
aftermarket cooler na lang akoa gihuwat para tong tong sa 4 ghz mark hehehe

we are not talking about enthusiasts or what kind of user. we are talking about the difference between cheap and expensive motherboards. im sure people who invest on high end mobo's, invest also on psu's. never heard of or met anyone who has an expensive mobo and a generic psu.

that last statement is funny though. "the budget is cut short due to the price of the mobo." should i say dumb? or stupid? lol

try working in a pc store bro and you can see that its a very common thing specially those who bring with them friends that advise them what brand to buy. many would invest in a 5k+ mobo but utilize the generic psu bundled in casing.

a 5k mobo is not considered high end. im talking about boards that are around 10k or higher. tell me if you know or see someone with that kind of board and is using generic psu.

yes, 5k mobo is not high end but its an expensive one if you compare it with a 2k+ mobo with the same chipset with the 5k mobo. when i was working in a pc store a long time ago, the most expensive mobo we have was an msi mobo with a price of 7k. we only stock a few of that model because its really hard to sell that kind of mobo and there were customers who brought that mobo, have it assembled in the store and never purchased a decent powersupply. one of the customers that had that set up went back to our store multiple times because of various problems

For me the mobo is like the command-center of the PC. Pay for something with a good chipset and speed and efficiency are within your grasp as your processor is able reach top gear. Also the PCB and other components are generally more durable in a higher cost board, there may also be better expansion options, Nortbridge/Southbridge cooling and of course inclusion of firewire for pro apps. Finally overclockers are drawn towards the more expensive boards due to extensive bios tweeks generally offered on these models.

So what if normal user ra qah mga broe?Tan-aw ko mra sayang-sayang ra jud guru... If your trying to assemble a decent CPU... and then di ayu ka enthusiast. "Mura tan-aw ko same" ra gihapon. Like for example lang ni cya... for a gamer... Di man guru ayu makita ang diperensya og imong Itandi/Compare... Not so so expensive motherboard, then tauran nimo og kick-ass nga Graphics/Video Card... tan-aw ko mra di man guru ayu dako og diperense...he2x, pls. kana lang ta mo bias og one mobo only/kana kadaiya and hilabi nah nga imohang model nga motherboard..

Makalibog sad ni usahay expensive components... ky usahay di ayu ka kita sa performance niya hilabi na normal user ra qah..."MURA SUYA SUYA NA LANG JUD, AND PAGWAPOHAY sa NAWONG sa components"lol

I even have a expensive graphic card before nga gi sayangan ko og buy.... ky same ra man japon I compare nimo sa mga onboard graphics motherboard... playing movies ra man pud gud ako hilig... he2x

Even now, wa jud nako magamit ako LGA 775 nga desktop, ni try lang qo assemble ky it was a challenge for me before..(panahon pa sa/USO pa sa LGA 775) nga I will built/assemble a DESKTOP CPU nga pinaka lower-cost but POWER pud gamay... --->Wa jud magamit nah... after some MOVIE viewing ky OBSERVATIONS, a little GAMING... then na set aside nah.. ky mao ra man japon... PAREHA2X ra performance sa aqo baratohon nga laptop...mo depend ra jud sa needs sa USER...

Wa magamit ky ang ako needs ra jud is makaya ra sa laptop. ---> So "ME" therefore conclude nga makabuhat/assemble diay ta og desktop nga paayter performance... at VERY MINIMUM COST...Ako lang ni two cents mga broe... MAMINAW and MO RESPECT JAPON KO SA INYO REBUTTAL/DISCLAIM, Bitaw... SHARE/SHARE gud mo diri mga GURO/hobbyist/enthusiast..

Sorry karon pa diay ko kabalik og reply2x sa thread...
