if its a new build...then go for i3-530...

but if you have an existing lga775 mobo. then go for the E7400 or E7500...

unless a miracle will happen today and all the apps become massively multi-threaded, there is not much difference between the dual core i3-530 & today's comparable Core2Duo...

    kung gusto gyud kag i-platform nga maayo...get the i7-860...paired w/ a P55 mobo...

there's just one problem with corei3 mobo's. you cant overclock it.

    read this thread
    https://www.istorya.net/forums/comput...and-200-a.html

im avoiding foxxconn motherboard and these 2 mobo's (which where specifically mentioned on reviews)
    from pcx:
    ECS P55HA
    MSI P55-CD53

issues only occurs when overclocking it. im just waiting for good mobo reviews that cost only from 5-6k.
leaning towards gigabytes GA-H55m-S2h or USB3 from ALLPC solutions
ok ang GA-H57 from anandtech reviews. im looking for reviews that says ok ang GA-H55 kay mas barato.

does the size affect its performance? do you overclock? do you mind a slightly higher temperature? if you said no to the 3 questions, then its not worth it.

go for the future the 775 might be cheap now but it will be obsolete later 2.5k is worth the increase and future proof and what Sir Simoko said 2cores / 4 threads very usefull....... in all aspects...

If this was a TICK, its not worth it. But its a TOCK, so its definitely worth the upgrade.
