    I am with the company for almost six months now. if you are in sales and unable to hit quota then you are always free to go. The company is not perfect like any others. the salary is tempting, indeed but make sure you know how to play your game. If you perform then you will be rewarded but those who are unbale to bear the pressure are the once exiting first. From my batch, there are only 4 of us left. One or two will be exiting effective March. I will only say that if you are confident and can really handle the pressure then apply but if you are half-baked then you are wasting time. better look for another company. I am not 100% loving them but I can endure so far.

    as far as i know, they are paid per hour basis because hey are considered contractual employees.

    a. Mylene Evangelista - the backbone of Xlibris when it started in 2004. For she helped out Xlibris stand on its feet and when Xlibris did start to operate fully, she was asked to resign.

    b. Lani Echavez and her HR team - she and her team built the HR department from scratch, set up guidelines, rolled out the handbook, straightened out job descriptions, and then, when Feldcamp felt that the collective salary of the HR managers represented a big chunk of the company's payroll, he decided he could do without them and asked them all to resign. But he still uses their system and procedures to this day.

    c. Emi Alfonso - she was courted by Feldcamp himself to work for Xlibris, which she reluctantly agreed to do so. She set up the Call Center department of the company and later was supposed to become manager of the Sales department. But, because Feldcamp's brother-in-law did not have any designation when he and his wife came to work for the company, Feldcamp decided to terminate Alfonso and put his inept brother-in-law in her place.

    d. Jon Alfonso - one of the brains of the software used by the company for their clients, and also the head of the IT Development department. He was falsely accused of tampering with sensitive information in the system, and was later on forced to resign. He was later not allowed to enter the office, even though he was still employed at the time of this incident. We heard that he had to call his lawyer to settle everything, and we also heard that he was paid in CASH for his severance, because he refused to accept the company's check as there were already many instances when checks issued by Xlibris bounced (more about this ahead).

    e. Jed Narvios - revolutionized the production department, but was later maligned and disliked by Dave Weinman, which ultimately led to his forced resignation. Again, like Jon Alfonso, when he tried to enter the company's premises the night after his resignation, he was not allowed to do so.

    f. Mary Ann Haramil, Rione Palacios, and Todd Sales - three supervisors in the sales department, the first not allowed to report to the office anymore, the second forced to resign, and the third terminated. Palacios was threatened with demotion, and Sales was given a death threat by Feldcamp himself. Collectively, they brought in more than half a million dollars in their 2 years stay in the company. $500,000.00, imagine that!

    John Feldcamp likes everything done his way. He has been known to tell his HR personnel to "FIRE NOW, THINK ABOUT LAWSUITS LATER!" and does not give a damn about the Philippine Labor Code. Feldcamp is a highly toxic individual you shouldn't cross paths with.

    2. DAVE WEINMAN (Operations Director)

    Unless you're a nymphomaniac, we suggest you stay away from him. This cross between Johnny Bravo and Mr. Bean thinks himself God's gift to women, but of course if he were back in the States he would be just one of them hicks! He has a reputation of sleeping with the women in the company, from the front desk lady to the production representatives. And when he does not get what he wants, you are either forever stuck in your position with no hopes of promotion or you're terminated. There was even a case where he asked a former employee to return ALL GIFTS he gave her when this certain employee filed a case against him in the National Labor Relations Commission.

    3. PAUL ROSENGRAVE (Sales Senior Manager)

    Paul Rosengrave, who happens to be the husband of Tracey Rosengrave, a SISTER of Feldcamp, has an atrocious Kiwi accent that's difficult to comprehend. He also hates taking a bath, so if you are near him make sure not to breathe. Paul is actually an ok person, and we are told he even shed tears everytime he had to let go of people in his department. But he has absolutely no brains to match his heart, and depends on his assistants to do the dirty job for him.

    4. MEG SENCIL AND BOBET FUENTES (Sales Manager and Assistant Manager)

    Meg is an extreme oddity in the corporate world. Her English is the worst, according to former and even current colleagues. She confuses HIBERNATION with HYPERVENTILATION, maybe because Hibernation is easier to memorize and spell. She does all the dirty work for Paul, and is extremely two-faced. She will befriend anyone in her department, and when you spill your guts she is said to also spill the same guts with management. She also has the tendency to besmirch people's names once they are no longer in the company, as she did with Geda Fernandez, whom she accused of doing illegal sales to earn bigger commissions, but really wasn't; Jerry Valencia, whom she nurtured and even allowed to do everything in order to sell, but later testified in court against him and accused him of ste aling company clients. Hmmm...isn't perjury against the law?

    Bobet is Meg's male version. If there is anyone whose English is more pathetic than Meg's, it's Bobet's. This guy could not carry a straight sentence and allegedly refuses to take supervisory calls for fear, maybe, of blundering with the call. He also is said to turn a blind eye whenever an illegal or unethical sale is being done by one of his reps, just as long as his team reaches its quota and he earns a bigger paycheck out of commission.

    Truly, ignorance is bliss, eh?

    5. 22K PLUS COMMISSION?? NOT!

    Many people are under the impression that if you work for Xlibris, you get better compensation. By word of mouth through equally deluded loyal employees, they say that you get a basic pay of 22,000 pesos. True, but that's that. What they are not saying is that they are actually not going to pay you any night differential anymore, no allowances, and no hazard pay. Basically, what you earn in Xlibris is more or less the same as most reputable call centers.

    We also heard that many ex employees often have a problem encashing their last pay check, because the bank would tell them the company's balance is always insufficient. We have at least 5 documented cases when last pay checks bounce. Ladies and gentlemen, there is a law against bouncing checks. Next time your check bounces, file a civil suit. Your last pay may just double!

    6. STATE OF THE ART FACILITIES (Yeah right!)

    The newspaper ad every Sunday about Xlibris is truly laugable. They boast of a gym among other "state of the art" facilities, but really it's all a load of bull. As far as we last saw the building, there was simply no gym to speak of yet. And for being state of the art? Nah. The building is so small that many employees still complain of claustrophobia. The air system, we heard, is also not well ventilated as some employees have difficulty in breathing when inside the cramped space. Also, it is doubtful whether anyone will survive if the building burns down as there seems to be, to our discerning eyes, just ONE fire exit.

    7. SENIOR AND JUNIOR ACCOUNTANTS WANTED!

    Just recently, FOURTEEN (that's one-four, 14) members of the accounting and finance department resigned. EN MASS!

    What caused these 14 people to resign? Our research is still underway. But take note, many of these were very old and loyal employees, so their resignation (or maybe it was forced?) really is a big question.

    8. SELL, AND SELL YOUR SOUL TO THE DEVIL

    The company is one big scam. It promises to publish books, takes the money of old and sickly people, and nothing happens. We know business is business, but when you sell overpriced products to old people and leave their books to rot in the world, with very dubious products such as the so called New York Book Review, and these old people don't sell a copy of their books, well, that's just stealing. Call it capitalism or any other way, but that's scamming in our book. We have heard of stories where even old authors in their deathbed are galvanized to buy a product because of such great promise, but todate have not sold a single copy of their book.

    How can these employees sleep after everything they do?

    9. INDIA, HERE WE COME!

    Unless you plan to answer calls in India, or most likely you'll be retrenched, we suggest you stay away from Xlibris. From what we've gathered, the CEO and Angie Wood, another bigwig in the company and allegedly the real brains behind the corporation, have been to India once or twice to scout for very good locations. Our sources say that the company is in deep financial problems and may soon need to transfer to an even cheaper location. We heard that the company is now so cash-strapped that they have not even been able to afford to hold an anniversary party.

    10. DISPOSE WHEN DONE

    Or something like that. Again, echoing John Feldcamp's philosophy, once your talents are used up you can kiss your job goodbye. Or when you start to voice out your concerns about how things are going or when you contradict official stand, you are bye-bye.

    Unless you are prepared to just suddenly have yourself and your things removed from your desk and be escorted out of the office by security guards WITHOUT the slightest idea why, then we suggest you stay where you are. Unless you are prepared to fight the company and file cases against them and suffer financially in the process, or unless you are prepared to have your name maligned and besmirched wherever you try to apply after Xlibris, then we suggest you sit tight wherever you are.

    WE ARE SENDING THIS EMAIL BECAUSE WE FEEL IT OUR PATRIOTIC AND MORAL DUTY TO WARN EVERYONE AGAINST THIS COMPANY. THIS IS NOT BLACK PROPAGANDA, OR EVEN LIBEL, BECAUSE WE HAVE ONLY LISTED THINGS THAT ARE FACTUAL. IF YOU HAVE MORE STORIES TO TELL, PLEASE CONTACT US. WE WOULD BE GLAD TO SPREAD THE WORD.

    This is so old news already. Xlibris is under a new management now. Most of the people mentioned in this email is not connected with Xlibris anymore, as what my friends told me.

    Each company has it's own reason for terminating people. I'm not saying thay I agree of their methods but no company is perfect. It's up to your own perspective of what a good company is. What I can say about Xlibris is that it gives opportunities to all regardless of what's your background.

    went to xlibris yesterday, information for aspiring applicants:

    for sales kay april pa ang start sa training
    for csr, you will take a writing exam first then initial interview. kung moset ug date ang imong interviewer for your next interview then naa kay personality test itake after then it means pasar ka sa first stage. if ingnan ka nga motawag or text sila nmo para sa result then for sure wala na na sya. i had two friends who were with me and ingon ana ang nahitabo sa ilaha. ang starting nila for csr is 22k.
    for copy editor, mowait pa ka para sa result sa exam nga ilang ipatake. might be two weeks after pa.

    mao rana some info i got while i was there. you just need to go there bring your resume then dritso ka exam then initial interview. gudluk!

    I worked in Xlibris as Publishing Consultant for a coupla months, roughly 6 months. so far, i had no problems with the company.Changes and announcements are properly disseminated. The managers are good, the rules and regulations are fine. Xlbiris rocks!
