No doubt the e5300 can go beyond 3.1 ghz but my intial goal for this build was only 3.2 ghz (have read somewhere that this is optimal for gaming). I have booted at 1333 fsb and 10x multi which gave me 3.33 ghz and 888 mhz ram frequency (3:4 ratio). The next lower divider I think the frequency will be around 1111 mhz and @ 1068 mhz I got error so I stayed with 3:4 ration. I just felt the memory is under worked at this speed plus the board setting the timings on the loose side. I have run over 1000 mhz at 1:2 ration with no problems on different board and personally feel that 1:2 ration has better sync between the procie and memory. Personally I think at 333 fsb is still not high enough to slow down memory speed. The patriot is an enthusiast level and should have no problem dealing with 1068 mhz or higher speed for sure and it's the board that's the set back. Even at 3.1 ghz the pfs are pretty decent on all the games I have tested and even on crysis whish is brutal on fps. Anyway, this is just to get started and I am sure anybody who will spend more time tweaking can sure come up with the most optimal settings. Your direction is right because higher fsb will help scores and pfs overall but nothing to worry about yet as far as the results is concern. Thanks for the suggestions.
