    lol? im using windows 7.

here's the current breakdown. (just installed last friday)
    c:\windows - 12gb
    c:\program files and programfiles (86) - 1gb
c:\users (even though i already set up the folder to drive d:, there are still files left in this folder) 1gb

right click on drive c, click properties. it actually consumed 26gb!

Microsoft recommended free space is 15gb. and im 1gb short.

add future headroom of 1gb for patches and drivers.
    another 1gb for system restore.
1gb for configfiles of future installations (for registry and application config files)
    1gb for temporary internet files.

if you want to install pa XP compatibility mode (15gb) para older programs (or games) will run.

    40gb? minimum cguro.

for windows xp, hmm... this is hard. 20gb is ok but i ran out of space and windows keeps warning me that im low on space. i think it was because i went from windows XP sp1 to sp2 to sp3.
My other computer (from windows xp sp3 cd) is 3.5gb for windows folder alone (with latest patches), add extra space cguro 10gb tanan after clean installations. and i dont want to have 10gb as free space. kulang kaayu. 160gb, dako pa kaayu free space. id allocate more for OS.

I dedicate drive c: for OS only.

I'm not anymore a gamer but I play online games sometimes.

Just using this for likely browsing the net and documenting files.
