aren't the yellow cabs owned by a pool of several cebu business men? because they wanted to have taxi drivers that doesn't overcharge tourists and taxi drivers who actually know where the tourist spots are -- kinda taxi driver/tour guide. there was a news about this before, i think.

folks, actually the yellow taxi that u might referring to are the airport taxis. they r not ur regular taxi cabs that pick up passengers from about anywhere. they are airport taxis which convey passengers from the airport to any destinations in the metro and vice versa. they are not allowed to pick up passengers from just about anywhere. it's either airport to point b or point b to the airport. u cant flag it if u happen to spot it as it passes by to take u to ur destination except when ur going to the airport. the flag down rate is P50 and the rate per kilometer is about the same with regular taxi cabs.

pro if guaranteed lang sad na safe ka.. a few pesos is fine i think.. And if dli lang sad pugsanay.. naa paman cguro taxi sa kadto bitaw mo tabok ka nya saka hagdan :P .. atleast sad naa ka option mag pa tigbas baka or dli.. dli preha sa uban na tigbason ka sa metro.. or pangayo-an ka extra kay lage daw sa airport gkan.. usahay pa pa na-ogon ka ug dli mo mag ka sabot sa presyo uban uu na lang kay daghan kaau butang.

also ingon nila dli ni sila mo pick up pasahero after ka gi hatod... so bali ang imo bayad equal na sa to and from sa imo destination..

Cabucos said that while the fare for the yellow taxis is higher, at a flagdown rate of 70 and additional P4 per succeeding 200 meters, its operation will eradicate the “pakyaw” system of unscrupulous taxi drivers.
