Default Question to Physical Therapists or those who employ/know one

May question lang ho ako about PTs (Physical Therapists),

Last December na-aksidente ang father ko and napilay siya. May nag-recommend sa kanya na mag-pa-PT para tumulong sa recovery nya.

May nag-offer ng services pero P300 PER HOUR. Is this correct? P300 per hour ang singil ng isang PT?? Kung ganoon, wow OK pala mag-PT kasi biruin mo, pag PT ka and 4 hours a day ka mag-se-session eh P1,200 na and multiply that by 22 days eh halos more than P22,000 a month ka na?! Wow, eh di mag-pa-enrol na ako para maging PT...

PS. Home service ho cya...sa bahay nagpapaPT si Papa...

That's the same rate what my Dad's PT and OT were asking last year right after he had 2 strokes... Those therapists were assigned to us from the RehabMedics in ChongHua, recommended by my Dad's doctor.

    Thanks Beyee...

    Wow...

PT is only a 4 year course right? Less pa ata pag graduate ka na ng college...and less pa pag may Nursing credits ka (I was to be enrolled as a 4th year Nursing student pero since kailangan ko muna magtrabaho to help my brothers, nagstop muna ako)...

If this is the case ok ang PT...kahit na 1 hour session every day P6,000 na agad (300 per hour for 1hour a day x 22 days).

it's a 5 yr course TS. I think ibig sabihin ng PT is 300/session yan. If you plan to have your therapy scheduled 3x/wk then 900 ang total. Mostly for stroke patients, maximum of 2hrs per treatment. Well, depende rin sa therapist

I am a physical therapist (currently non-practicing). The course takes a total of five years. And yes, home PT services is usually charged on an hourly basis. Nowadays, the standard rate for licensed PTs are around 400-450Php. The rate can increase depending on some factors, like distance or location of the patient's house, for instance. Depende lang sa sabot2x sa PT and the patient. Working as a PT here in the Philippines doesn't pay as big compared to working abroad. Most PTs make their ends meet by having private patients, as in home PT services. Kung mag home ka, yes, it sounds promising. But it doesn't really last long kay eventually, maka-recover baya ang patients so there's no point in continuing with the sessions anymore. You go look for another patient, and the cycle starts again.

I'm not going to deny that money is a factor, but being a PT is actually very fulfilling. Especially if you get to see improvement in your patient's condition -- kapoy at times, yes, but truly rewarding.

and may i add as well that depende sa case if it's neuro then the rate's a little bit higher kay mas lisod, super kapoy and daghan management whereas ortho case dali ra and naa ka sundon na protocol...

so sometimes neuro case is mas mahal as compared to ortho case...this is as a home p.t.

@TS lain lain ang policy for every school, not all nursing students who want to shift can get credits, naa school would require that a shiftee/transferee will start all over or some schools would not accept shiftee/transferee...same thing with P.T. to Nursing...so it depends sa school, so it's not that easy as you think it is...
