I think the mother's name was Gabriel, I think. A doctor Professor X met in Israel in the 1960s.

But in the ULTIMATE universe, Legion's mom is Moira Mactaggert. Two universes, two different mothers.

Gabriel Haller reappeared in the "Death of Professor X" storyline that preceded the Age of Apocalypse. It's the story where Legion went back in time in an attempt to kill Magneto but ends up killing Professor X instead.
