A dangerous precedent. If GMA wants to run for the presidency again in 2016 or 2022, puwede diay according to the Comelec.

They should've looked into the records of the 1987 Constitutional Commission, particularly the deliberations surrounding the constitutional ban on presidents seeking another term. That is the best and most accepted way to clear up any ambiguity relating to interpreting the Constitution. Constitutional law expert Joaquin Bernas, SJ was a member of the Con-Com and he said it was pretty clear in their deliberations that the prohibition against running again was not for a consecutive term but an absolute and perpetual one.

Of course if this were sent to the Supreme Court, sigurado man gyud nang dili tugutan si Erap. But why should this issue have to get to the SC? Just because Erap is a clown and has no chance of winning doesn't mean his candidacy shouldn't be contested. He should have just been struck down as a nuisance candidate.
