Feel free to break into song after you read this next sentence: Fox has given Glee an early season 2 pickup.
Well, what are you waiting for — start singing, dammit!
Okay, stop singing, ’cause there’s more.
Fox is launching a nationwide casting search this February to fill three new season 2 roles. Per the network’s press release, “Auditions will be open to amateur individuals as well as professionals between the ages of 16-26, and all hopefuls will be able to submit auditions online. Additional details will be announced soon [via] fox.com/glee.”
The audition process will be turned into a multi-part reality special to air at the end of the summer. “We’re going to pull back the curtain on the process,” says Fox president Kevin Reilly. “And the winners will be revealed in the first episode of the season.”

FYI, I've been told that Glee's comeback on April isn't the Season 2 yet. They're just currently on fall break. The episodes airing starting April is the continuation of the first season.

Idina Menzel (actress of Broadway's famous play called "Wicked") will be appearing in some episodes of Glee as Vocal Adrenaline's (the opposing Glee team) vocal coach. She's one fine singer by the way so watch out for her on Glee! She was first preempted to play as a close relative of Rachel Berry (bcoz maybe of their apparent resemblance) but I dont know why they changed plans. And oh! just a quick additional note, Idina Menzel sang the original version of Defying Gravity on the play "Wicked".

Also appearing on the coming episodes is another broadway star, Jonathan Groff. He'll be playng the role of Vocal Adrenaline's male lead and will have a romantic relationship with Rachel Berry.

Kristin Chenoweth (April Rhodes from Episode 5) is set to appear again on the coming episodes too!

Charice well that one is definitely a rumor! bcoz Director Ryan Murphy hasn't told me anything yet! hahahahaha!
