Its a case to case basis.
If the second, third and fourth love is not good enough than the first relationship, then it will never die because we tend to long for the first.
For me,,,,,,its the Memory of it that never dies, but no longer w/ the feelings.

different people feel different way. maybe in your experience 1st never die and maybe for some people they can get over it.
