PS3 versus Xbox 360 versus Wii

Sony's E3 conference was good but it wasn't really jaw-dropping for me though. Most of the stuff they showed.. we already know. Their online Marketplace? Yeah 360 got that. Motion sensitive controller? Ahmmm Nintendo Wii showed us that first. I did find the Eyetoy thing interesting. Anyhow, it's nice to know the final price for the beast.

Now it's Microsoft turn to Wooow me. They better officially announce Halo 3 or I won't get my yearly joygasm.

i guess im excited because i already got the PSP, can't wait to connect it with the PS3 whew and that FFXIII looks good, heck MGS4 holy cow, well its a given Microsoft will show Halo 3

whats the forecast pricing of the PS3 games? $60.00?? or is it still $49.99...

i bet its higher, if its in BD format, i bet people are already planning for line parties for Nov 11 and 17 hahaha

I still think Sony is taking a big risk for Blu-Ray format on the PS3 though. There's still a huge backing for the competing HD-DVD format. Will the PS3 release be enough to drive the industry to support and embrace Blu-Ray? Sony better hope so. History hasn't been so kind to them.

-and while the MemoryStick is the defacto storage device for Sony products, the rest of the world have gone and used SDs, Compact Flashes and what have you...

Blu-Ray has the bigger backing, HD-DVD has Microsoft, or else it would have been dead from the start...but we will have to see, people have to start buying HDTVs to get advantage of the new format, advantage lang sa HD-DVD kay nag una na siya hehe and if blu-ray fails, well goodbye Sony but Sony has the advantage of having the Blu-Ray player built-in, sa Xbox360 dili man tingali included ang HD-DVD movie player but sa atong market I doubt mamalit ang mga taw dinhi hehe dili man gani palit ug orig na DVD how much more for HD-DVD or Blu-Ray hehehe sus tagpila ang HDTV sad karon waaah, tag 40k man tingali ang cheapest dayon pila ra ka inch

Don't get your hopes too up on Sony being a "sharing" entity. Like what anyone who hasn't been under a rock since the 90s, or under a Sony hypnotic spell, their proprietory products never really made it big. The success of the PlayStation was the use of traditional format CD and PS2 had DVD. I have a PSP too and so far I've only bought 4 legit games and the rest have been ran on ISOs. While we're on that matter..a console's success depends on the amount of games it sells and not the console itself.

Take the Philippines as an example.. Sony looks like it hit it big time here because of all the Sony consoles (PlayStation, PSOne, PS2, and PSP) it sold. I am willing to bet my shlong that I have more beard hair than the number of legit gamers here in the Philippines.

Xbox and Gameboy (both have pirating options as well) have had more legit game sales for two main reasons. Gameboys are cartridge based and kids love the gameboy and they know zero about gameboy rom cards. Xbox Live players are more than happy to own legit xbox games.. more so with xbox 360 players who want in on everything in the marketplace. It even shows in the respective Filipino forums of pinoyxbox and pinoypsx. The latter doesn't have a need for a buy/sell for games as bootlegged copies are available everywhere.

As for Wii.. we'll have to see how the new innovative console plays out here in the Philippines. I'll be sure to grab one as soon as it hits the market here.

Xbox 360.. already got it and having tons of fun with Xbox Live.

PlayStation 3.. definitely going to buy it as well but only because of Blu-ray and maybe some geeky stuff to do with the PSP.
