I admit I am a big Detroit fan (80's 'til now) but living in Dallas for the past 6 yrs made me a Mavs fan. I've watched all their games on TV (local, TNT, ESPN, FSN etc etc...) and occasionally watch games at the American Airlines Center and at the old Reunion Arena twice or three times every season since then but that would not make me bring out the pom poms like a cheerleader and definitely won't make me "act like a Roman" 'coz the truth is: I've done all that stuff for all these years. and if you go ahead check the front page on this thread you'll see my name as the thread starter with my first post (unedited) that goes "the Spurs are the team to beat in the West but i think the Mavs will get them this time".

I've seen all the trades and drafts, the big names they've let go and I've been religiously listening to ESPN 103.3 (Mavs FM radio station) all these years. I've bought Mavs merchandise, Nowitzki, Nash, Finley, Jamison, Walker, Van Exel, Howard (Juwan) and recently Harris, Howard (Josh) and Terry jerseys for both me and my son. I even have Mavs stickers on one of my cars here (the other one has Detroit but my parents' car in Cebu got Mavs' sticker) so don't tell me or anybody else on this thread for that matter (fans or not) how to act like a Dallas fan 'coz "you don't know whom you're talking to". and if you're Dallas' biggest fan, why is it that I haven't seen you on older Mavs thread on these forum where they got heckled, trashed and disrespected after bowing out to the Kings, Suns, Spurs etc..? "fan for convenience ehh"?

the bottomline is: they (Mavs) still have to finish off the Spurs (that's the hardest part), they still have to face either Suns-Clips even before going to the finals, and Detroit is no pushover either. so hold your guns 'til they've won the West finals and meet the victor in the East in the NBA 2006 Championship before you run out of bullets, you might get disappointed like all Mavs fans were for all those years if they lose to the Spurs, or maybe lose against the Suns-Clips.. I hope you'd still be here yapping your mouth even when they don't reach the 2006 NBA Finals 'coz that's what true fans do.. support them when they lose not only when they win. M F F L

Suns?? Suns?? you don't even know which team the Mavs are playing against right now and here you are running your mouth.. if you wanna act like the Romans, please do a better job at it.. 'coz it's showing clearly here that either you don't watch/listen/read about the games of "your team" or simply put, you know nothing about being a fan. pathetic..

now tell me, who's the pretender? 'coz for sure it isn't me..

^^ I'm always relaxed man.. no worries..

I think the refs are officiating the series poorly.. I thought they were in favor of Duncan and co. in games 1 and 2 but heck.. let them just play the game..

Well, you spoke too soon. You dont know how much I adored Dallas. How dare you accuse me of a fan for convenience. Whats that comment? right here in our thread. By what authority you tell me that.

I was there beginning in 2001 when they first entered in the playoff picture beating the Utah Jazz in the first round. Then its crying time from then on, they lost to Sacs in 2002, Spurs 2003, Suns in 2005. I was there but aint given up.

I didnt post much during the regular season because its still free for all. But I taped their games on my VCR.

YOu are a Piston fan right now so that forfeits you as Dallas fan. Dont upset us with your posts about us celebrating a commanding 3-1 lead over the Spurs. The reigning NBA champions eating dust from Dallas thats enough reason to celebrate. Your comment is quite a dampener. Why cant you let us be. Anyway we are not disturbing your Pistons. If you are really a Dallas fan you could have complimented our celebration; not spoiling it with your comments. Intiendes señor?

Mavs One Victory From Eliminating Champs

In the STAR-TELEGRAM , Art Garcia writes that "one, and the champs are done. One solitary victory and the Mavericks advance to the Western Conference Finals, sending the San Antonio Spurs off to a sandy beach somewhere for the rest of the summer. It's a scenario no one could have predicted after only four games. No one except the Mavs. Leading the best-of-seven West semifinals 3-1, the Mavs' first attempt at closeout is tonight (TNT, 9:30 ET) at the AT&T Center."

if that's how your brain works looking at yourself as a fan then you're also forfeited to root for Dallas since you're a Cavs fan too remember? or that rule doesn't work on you..
