Avatar is one of the well written and scripted movies of all time, probably because of its smashing director james cameron - director of the number one best selling movie of all time - Titanic or, avatar just holds the dream place, that certain perfect world where harmony is at reach and peace is not just a fantasy. with all the glory it has gained, do you think a sequel would be suitable? do you think it would make it as big as the first one? let's all talk about it

I really like the movie. I enjoyed watching it. A sequel would be most welcome if and only if they can match or surpass the 1st one. Most of the time, sequels become a disappointment.

James Cameron stated that if Avatar was successful, he hoped to make two sequels to the film. In a 2009 interview, he stated that the story arc he developed is large enough to cover two more films. Cameron also mentioned that the sequel's story arc would begin after the events of the first film and that it would continue to follow the characters Jake and Neytiri.

completely agree with you. a sequel is sometimes a make or break event - especially if the first one was a smashing hit. look at resident evil, the first one was great, the second okay, the rest sucked and no longer had great ideas.
