sony is more concern on the blu-ray, they want to win the format war, than win the console..

Yep, But they are also killing they're own Blue-ray stand alone player. I want Sony to succeed, infact I love my 60' LCD Sony HDTV, but they are already loosing greatly on sales w/ Samsung; Not only that there PSP did not do well, there MP3 player is in the bottom of sales revenues, there Studios is not making hard earn profits for 2 years now. So their only Milk & Honey is the baby of Ken Kutaragi. And Sony needs this as the only key to control the Media Entertainment on our Living Rooms & Recreational Rooms.

I think Sony will still lead on the console wars but on a very slim margin.

Of course, Blu-Ray is their latest BABY, they wouldn't want to lose like they did with BETAMAX, MD, ATRAC, UMD, unsa pa ilang failure diha.. But they aren't pricing the PS3 aggressively. They really want to market it not as a gaming console but as an entertainment device, and that bumped up the price considerably. And the losses will be hard for Sony. Do the math, the list price is 599 for the must-have version. Analysts say the average component price on time of release is 799 (because of Blu-ray). And Sony expects to ship 2 million units on the first month. Patay, lugi na daan ang Sony. And the fact that standalone Blu-Ray players are sooo expensive, the PS3 price really seems a detriment to Sony financially. Kaw ba tagaan ug choice between PS3 and a standalone blu-ray player, of course ud get the cheaper PS3.

Sony might win but on a slim margin. And a very slim at that I agree. As what we all know, Microsoft and Nintendo are ganging up on Sony. And they're attacking on all fronts.

I still think losing exclusive rights of GTA:IV was a huge blow for Sony. It's like the Xbox losing privilege rights to Halo, or Nintendo losing Zelda. Anyhow, it's going to be an interesting battle. And at the end of the day, the only real clear winner is us; consumers. The power is in our hands to choose on whether...

--spending $600 is a justified purchase of a PS3 (Cell CPU Inside) and embrace Blu-Ray
--or should we go for the cheaper Xbox360 with its true n' tested and well established online community (Xbox Live)
--or do we allow the Wii and it's unique controller to make a fool of ourselves by slamming, hitting, throwing our hands on open air (and wii around like we just don't care)

Anyways GTA:IV is still going to be released on the PS3

Yup the real clear winner is us the consumers, so lets just buy what we want (and afford ) I think our minds are already set on what to buy so lets stop the console bashing

errr daghan kaayo, pag search lang sa internet hehe basically its a blu-ray player, internal hard drive, powered by cell, wifi, has bluetooth, wireless controller, HDMI etc...expensive too

@naz :I'm not gonna comment on your post.. but to answer ur question, The only similarity they have is that both can play PS2 games.. (but obviously PS2 can't play PS3 games..)

hehe also play PS1 games but you can't copy your PS1/PS2 saved games into the PS3...bummer

Kanus-a pa kaha manaug ang price sa PS3 when it hits Cebu... As far as i know, the PS2 price didnt drop until it reached its 3rd year.
