pa agi-a ta gamay ani nga thread.
i have been in the detailing business for 5 years, and was detailing my car for another 10 years prior. we've done a few hig-end cars (porsche's, some bmw's, a few benzes, a lot of high-end surplus cars and a few more high-end suvs). we only do this sa amo mga kaila, but the ones we've done will keep us a secret, kay di man sad ganahan magpalupig ato mga amigohere are some points you might want to consider when looking for detailing service:
- detail sytem being used: not all branded chemicals give you the best finish, and unless the detailer understands your paint finish, he cannot give you the best shine. the most popular ones are not the best, and we know this because we've tried every single system in cebu, before we finally used some tested systems in manila (from the car show circuit) and some systems we saw from the european methods.
- experience: detailing is in the details. and its in how well your detailer was trained, and how much work he was exposed to. mo nipis na inyong pintal ug mag scientist na ang detailer nga wa kasabot sa iya gibuhat. start-up detailers and detailers on commercial shops are forced to use system finishes kay mao ra man ang sayon nga dili masipyat.
for interiors, just because gi baklas ang carpet doesn't mean limpyo na. look at sanitation and odor deodorizing capabilities. its not true that there is only one shop in cebu that has the steam cleaner. dugay na mi gagamit ana, 3 years back pa, and we have a carpet extractor to match it. both professional equipments, dili dula-dula and significant investments were made to acquire these.
- final finish: last but not least, just because it shines doesn't mean it was well-done. to prove my point, anybody who has had his car "waxed" should put a plastic over his hands and run it over the paint surface. ug mas liba-ong pa na sa dalan sa 'lacion, wa gihapon nay ayo. the final finish should have a deep gloss to it, without looking like it was manicured with clear gloss. that is what experts call the "wet-look".
look for detailers who have done "difficult" cars: high-ends, european, surplus. then you can truly say nga kama-o![]()
