in regards with religious people actively commenting on the political situations on this country,
they are also citizens and they have the right to do so, same with the right and privilege that we are doing here...

The spray drift can reach as far as 3.2 kilometers (km), a paper from the Interface Development Interventions said, thereby exposing non-targets such as people, animals, plants, and their air and water resources to fungicides meant only for the leaves of banana plants. The pesticides, which are inherently poisonous and non-selective, could harm organisms other than their targets. This intrinsic property could potentially cause harm to the non-targets reached by the pesticides.
A health and environment assessment conducted by the Department of Health (DOH) confirmed pesticide drift beyond banana plantations and into residential communities. Pesticide contamination symptoms were noted, as traces of pesticides were detected in the blood of villagers, as well as in air and soil samples.
"Voluminous evidence have shown that fungicides such as mancozeb and chlorothalonil, which are aerially sprayed in banana plantations, cause acute health effects and chronic effects (based on literature review) to workers and communities living near plantations," DOH's report said.
The DOH noted that drift is unavoidable when pesticides are applied. In aerial applications, almost 40% of pesticides applied is reportedly lost to drift.

    read this, https://www.istorya.net/forums/spirit...-catholic.html

IF WE REALLY ARE TO COMPARE, i hope other religious belief could say the same or even be near with what the roman catholic church have done.

Kinsa ang ni allow ug divorce ug polygamy? Ang catholic ba?

Daghan miscomings ang mga tawo sa catholic church, DILI ANG CHURCH. I hope people here would learn to discern the difference.

With other religions, I refuse to name them because it would be unhealthy, their leaders mismo created their own religion to condone their wrong doings.

INSAKTO! My mother is from Davao and we frequent Davao during summers in our childhood and teenage days so we are pretty aware what happens there. Some people here are probably not familiar with what happens in a Hacienda.

In the banana plantations in Davao's case, the huts of the farmers ARE IN the plantation so when the planes that fumigates fly by, the people and their frail huts and shanties are included thereby exposing them to harmful chemicals that causes various diseases such as cancer, skin diseases and abnormalities in children.

That is why Mayor Duterte against this because the mist of the aerial spray drifts even outside the banana plantation.

The sad part is the owners of these plantations refuse to do anything about it because it will be costly. Why costly? because if i remember right, my cousin told me that the banana plantation which is dominantly owned by the Florendo's is as big if not even bigger than Mactan island.

Unya unsa man imong i-suggest buhaton sa mga pari ani? Mag bear ug arms and fight the warlords in Mindanao kay inutil atong gobyerno?

Gusto ka ibalik sa Church ang mga Knights Templar pag panahon sa mga Crusades? Which is in no way relevant at this time and besides, this is not a religious war.

How can a church, not only catholic, with their own resources and capacity battle all society's ills such as diseases, poverty, war, drugs, etc.? Wa man gani maka-address ang government ana in ANY COUNTRY. All they can do and all that we should really expect, is for them to continue to introduce God to those who are lost or do not know him.

So to grossly criticize the church particularly the Catholic Church, makes you WAY OUT OF LINE and not anywhere even slightly near intelligent.

lisod i-separate ang church ug government because politics and religion go together in a person's life. functions pwede buwagon pero sa application sa usa ka tawo in his daily life, lisod buwagon ang politics and religion, gani, motigbabaw ang religion.

radical ra kaayo ka sir, ayaw pag suicide bomber ha. j/k!

They should start with those "married" priests and those priests who is in the church for profit. tsk tsk tsk... the church is and always will be hypocrite.
