No. There are no devils to be worshiped. Only GOD, the great Architect of the universe.

am i implying? if you read my post properly, what i said was, my professor who is in Filipino studies (among other things), thinks that the institutionalization of crab mentality in low-land filipino consciousness maybe attributed to Rizal's novel. His justification was that nowhere in the two novels do you see a Filipino being praised, nowhere do you see the Filipino succeeded, every where you see that the Filipino always fail, always fall. You see filipino's acting against each other. and why institutionalized? because this has become a required subject and reading, (we have to thank the late sen. Claro m. recto for that)

He even states that Rizal's plot in his noli me tangere was a almost the same to a spanish novel that rizal read during his time in spain. the characters et al - Benito Perez's Dona Perfecta. (as you can see, if you read me clearly, it is not me but my professor who said such things, i am not my professor, im merely sharing his view which are not mine)

another professor from the ateneo(sociology) states that we have always demonized Church and Crown (spain) and we are too blinded from our colonial biases to see the great benefits that colonialism has given the nation. refer to dr. zialcita's Essays in Filipino Identity.

maybe your teacher ought to publish that article in a refereed journal, and if he/she did, you might want to tell me, so i can comment. for now, ( i think )either your statement referring to your teacher is a fictional acccount, or your teacher might be very simplistic, or he might actually be on to something, or he might be just saying things he could not justify.

AND between your statement stating that Rizal did not retract from masonry and my statement that there is no certainty for now that Rizal retracted or not, who do you think is more one - sided? you who states rather categorically something without justifying it ? or me who stated merely a status of the debate in rizal stuies that it is for now not certain whether he retracted or not? now who is being one-sided e?

crab-mentality exists everywhere true. but i am not talking about everywhere, i am talking about the Philippine situation and the cultural and historical forces that shaped this phenomenon in our nation.

to avoid taking too much space for unwarranted replies, please read carefully my posts.
    cheers!

p.s among other fallacious statements, you first of all presume im a philosophy professor, secondly, grantign that its true (which is not), what has it gotta do with all your statement that i am so ? --- exactly, NOTHING. its a non-essential ending for a post.
no problemo, professor child. your professor, good sir, is NOT rizal so he will never know the exact thoughts rizal was thinking when rizal wrote the 2 novels. so, your professor may keep his opinion about the institutionalization of crab-mentality that's being attributed to rizal's 2 novels.

it's like your professor was suggesting that it was because of rizal, filipinos are so now into crab-mentality. and that other professor of yours who wrote about the great benefits of colonialism? what's so great about being a lapdog for a dictator? well, that's their opinion and you may share it with them.

you can't stop me from commenting too, that the church made us this way. from the time of the spanish friars, it's because of the church that the filipinos never really realized their full potential but instead being looked down to as only an indio.

but thanks to filipino Masons (and some spanish Masons), we gained our independence from spain.

sad thing, the crab-mentality indoctrination by the church remained. their dogma of "i'm right you're wrong, i'm holy you're not, i'm smart you're dumb, i'm big you're small" was pretty much programmed into the minds of the filipino people through fear-based emotional blackmail using the name of God as leverage. the church literally held people's salvation hostage IF they do not submit to their teachings.

but not rizal. and all those filipino Masons who sacrificed their lives so we may know what freedom is like.

and if you say that crab-mentality is here to stay, well, that's your choice. that's still your freedom to choose. but we also have the freedom NOT to choose anything the church is offering.

professor child, i know you may reply thrice the length of this post because you love flowery words. i must admit it could put us all, who are not very bright, into unease. but they don't impress at all. not at all.

professor child, you may want to read the book The Brethren by Reynold Fajardo.

i think we've derailed much already, so i think it would be prudent to go back to the topic. thanks for opting not to reply anymore as it will be off-topic entirely.

    God bless.

There is nothing special in Modern Freemasonry. It evolved into a business clubs of drinking men fanning their ego, resting on the grandeur of their ancient predecessor thinking that they(modern Masons) are responsible for their(ancient predecessors) great achievements.

when I see young Masons I usually have bad activities going inside my stomach. These airheads are filled with theories and zero community service, well maybe they have done it once or twice but nothing that can really wow me and deserves any man's respect. The Catholic and other Religious community can do it much better. Hey I'm talking about the young and Modern Masons not the Old and Wise ones.
