Ahhhh! nindot unta kung mo-run pud sa mac...hehe!

There used to be a software called ChilisoftASP which lets you run ASP scripts on Apache, therefore ASP on Linux and Mac. I say "used to be" kay wala na koy makita sa ilang website karon. I guess ASP's evolution to .NET killed them... anyway, what i did was get one of those small Asus laptops and set it up as a web server. linux/php lang akoa pero pwede gihapon kung windows/asp imo gusto.

yup, sanggano boy is correct. if you want to master php then you should have a background in c/c++ then in asp you should have background in visual basic....

actually with classic ASP you can also use javascript which, like php, has a C feel to it. sa ASP.NET you can use any .NET language

Pwede raman sa mac bro pero mo install gyudka ug emulator para maka install ka ug Windows Platform sa imo mac mura ug VMWare ba sa windows nga pwede ka mo install ug Mac or linux

sakita pud anang VMWare oi, kapoy na oi... maguba akong system ana, just brought my desktop PC and I'm running a LAMP on that desktop then saku laptop kay Vista so ASP jud ako gi aim harder ron... Medyo sayon ra man ang PHP pero nice pud ang ASP. Mas maayu kining duha jud para matawag pud tag talented ba...hahahaha!

actually both asp & php are easy to create, manipulate, configure, etc. if you have html, javascript or vbscript o xml background kana webscripting coding so far so good gyud. as for me both are reliable. for now mi focus ko sa php scripting kay linux man ako free host server gamit hehehehe... on the case of asp, it's a Microsoft's previous server side scripting technology ASP latest version karun kay 3.0. unya microsoft technology cya unlike php it's designed for linux platform. for those who are not familiar with php it stands for Hypertext Preprocessor, open source as what are fellow peeps explained, unya mo support cya different databases like MySQL, Informix, Oracle, Sybase, Solid, PostgreSQL, Generic ODBC ug uban pa... puede pud nimo ma sagol ang mysql database ug php while sa asp kay ADO.NET na part sa .NET Framework. ADO.NET maoy mo handle sa data access. dili nalang ko mo go in detail i know daghan kaau kamao sa duha either asp o php. both server scripting languages. asp for windows server while php for linux-based ... if naa pud moy knowledge sa windows server how it configured to set permissions on files didto sa IIS dali ra. depende ra gyud para sa ako. sa uban if familiar mo sa windows server IIS o linux apache/red hat servers kay diri ni pud i-upload ang mga scripts (.aspx o .php3/4, .phtml).
kato mga windows platform like xp or 2000 installed dali ra kay mo install raka Internet Information Services (IIS) from the Add/Remove Windows components dialog, etc. sa php puede ka mo download apache server ari lang diri na link [http://httpd.apache.org/download.cgi]. cheers!

magamit mn na ang 2 sa mga panahon karon.
