the fact na nagbuhat na sila ug ilang kaugalingon religion, it defeats the purpose that they don't believe in supernatural.. if you truly don't believe in supernatural, ngano buhat2x pa man ug religion.. mga LaVeyan satanists are fake satanists.. not the other way around..

satanists believe in Satan, and they are like religionists who also acknowledge existence of God and Jesus Christ.. so you're a satanist pud because you believe that Satan exists man dba? mao man ni imong logic..

because u dont believe in God, Satanist have the same view
that doesnt cover atheism only, but same can be said to different faiths of different religion.
...and treat other religions of different faiths the same treatment. label them under the banner of their respective anti-hero.

    Have you heard of this:
    1. Thiestic Satanism
    2. Athiestic Satanism

Theistic Satanists venerate Satan as a supernatural deity. In contrast, Atheistic Satanists[1] consider themselves atheists and regard Satan as merely symbolic of certain human traits.

--- lols! athiesm is just a generic standpoint. It takes another half-step to become another form... who's stopping you from becoming a satanist?

    excuses...

    simplier explanation:

All the people who believe in God are THIEST.
All the people who DONT believe in God are ATHIEST.

if we move on to the next question:
WHAT IS YOUR DENOMINATION/GROUP/AFFILIATION? It all boils down to one.

If a thiest would become a hindu, then he believes in HINDUISM.
If an athiest would become a SATANIST, then he believes in SATANISM.

    anymore question?

Well, for me, being able to stay in japan for a couple of months gave me a picture of an atheistic community. But first I must confine myself that by "atheism" we mean "absence of belief in the existence of deities" [as define in Wikipedia]. Most Japanese doesn't have religion, they don't have this concept of a supreme being. And quite frankly, they like it that way [some Japanese extremists even hold protest in front of churches, saying "leave them be"]. Although without "moral standards" taught by religion, Japanese have prospered. Crime rate in japan is very low, their police doesn't even carry guns.

So how did it change my idea/concept on atheism?
-It changed my views a lot. Being born and raised in a Christian family and lived in a largely Christian country [phils], we have this notion that atheists are evil, the complete opposite of what we believe in. When I was young, i have been told that scientists are atheists, they defy God, thus must be avoided.
A harsh way to say this is, we have been "brainwashed", religion has already set the norms for us, what is good, what is bad.

But why do we see so many wars caused by religion?
    Yet we preach peace...

We accuse atheists of not having a moral standard, but yet they lived with prosperity.

I heard one atheist say in a debate i saw in youtube, "Atheists are just Another Thinking Human being Engaged In Seeking the Truth".

Faith should be a personal journey, a quest in seeking the truth. Whichever path it leads, whether you become convinced that there is a God or not. Be happy that you have discovered it on your own not just something being imposed on you.
I understand exactly what you mean, I lived in Okinawa Japan for 2-1/2 years. They were a honest proud and clean society where you could openly discuss religion, ideologies, and personal views in controlled discussions that rarely led into debate, and never in argument. They are also very respectful towards opposing views and cultures. That may be the true secret for their economic superiority over this region. Peoples of this world respond to respectful cultures, thus they choose to do business with those who show them honesty and respect.

That is why it is amazing to me that even the most simple discussions of these topics here always cause arguments. And the arguments are always over petty semantics. I hope we can get through this, but I think many members just have chips on their shoulders and petty issues with other issues. Too many grudges and axes to bare. Some members seem not to get through their personal issues long enough to engage each other as intellects. They seem to have this "I have to Win at all Cost" or "I have to Prove I am Smarter Than You" mentality, maybe it is just their nature to want to only argue, nit-pic, and taunt. It is counter productive to true discussion and debate. They can not grasp that who cares who wins, most just want to hear the facts. Their petty victories is everyone else's loss.

i really dont mind if they do those things or practices they do, they are free to do those. why should i hold them back?
it only starts when these people start claiming their beliefs as a general rule of some sort.
how do bible huggers on a WORD spreading frenzy respond to people, who like me questions the basis of their claims? like this bloke who claims DOUBT as a form of sin. lolz
    A) thank you for your time.
    B) bombards you with circular reasoning and the whole nine yards. if you're not buying it they then bombard you with threats of torture and brimstone. then the ad hominems roll out like homilies.

atheism for me was a personal choice. nobody came knocking to my door yapping about have you heard the bad news or other sales talk religionists do? to be brief, it's a personal journey. that said, i believe this world wasnt meant for atheist nor bible huggers alone.<---fundamentalist cant seem to grasp that idea, their way is the ONLY way, absolutism.
I understand what is behind your logic and you are right. I know that there are many who are interested in the ideology and philosophy. This is just a forum for Atheist to discuss what they see as the benefits and what makes them happy about their chosen belief. That others could learn and understand these differences and be openly discussed by other Atheist, non believers, and members of all religions and beliefs. It is and opportunity for members to learn.

The question is are the members on this forum able to start an intelligent dialog? Or is it doomed due to the petty differences that always result in conflict. I do know that if nobody tries that it will not happen and soon this may be a totally banned subject. Then nobody learns nothing other that nobody can discuss religion on one of the very few forums that allowed it. All these educated mature members can not discuss a simple topic without fighting amongst themselves. So how educated and capable can everyone really be, in trying to solve any real problems in this world?

I posted very simple rules, how few can follow them. Their own personal agendas are blocking their way. They are blocking everyone's way. And for what reason private gloats, bragging rights, self gratification? They will not stop until they have the subject banned. Petty at best. If this is the best brightest, and best educated then everyone else is in big trouble. Welcome to the future leaders of the world.
