Yes it does sometimes. That is just part of faith
Old testament is for the Hebrew (Jew) any such commands were for the ancient Hebrews over 3,300 years ago and does not relate even to modern Hebrews, and I being a Gentile it is totally unrelated to me. I do follow the Moral laws by choice, 10 commandments, Jeremiah 10 :3-4, and a few others.
New Testament is for the Gentile, I'm a Born Again Gentile and I am not instructed to hurt anyone, I am taught to love my neighbor more than myself, and to forgive my enemies.
Qur'an is Islam, Muslims they have the 164 Jihad (War) verses. "Convert or Die"
the only things i look forward in xmas are family and friends get together, NFL, beer, and food. not so much for gifts if that's how you define xmas.
I still gather with the family, watch sports, wine and dine, and travel with my family. We just do not do the tree, lights, and gifts; do not do Halloween; or have rabbits throw eggs in the yard. But we still have a full active fun family life.
Last X-mas we traveled to manila. This X-mas we will be traveling to Cebu to visit friends, see the sites, cruise the malls, eat good food and have a good time. We will either go to Thailand, Japan, or Hong Kong next year during X-mas break.
