What OS should I use for an Old Laptop?

Naa koy karaan (2001) nga Fujitsu Lifebook P-1000. Installed siya with Windows XP (no idea gi-unsa nila ug install kay hinatag raman gud ni nga unit). Wala siya Floppy drive, wala sad Optical Drive. Naa siya USB socket.

Unsa kaha maayo nga OS para ani nga unit? I was thinking Unbuntu, pero gi-try namo sa ako migo ug install ug Ubuntu through the USB drive, dili man daw mu-lahos. No idea ko regarding installing Linux, so wala ko idea ngano wala mulahos.

Unsa inyo ma-suggest para ani nga laptop? Nya how should I install it?

i'd suggest lighter linux distros instead of ubuntu. here're two to get you started: puppy linux, slax

those two are pretty light on resources while still being quite usable. FYI, i use ubuntu and i'd point you at crunchbang but it's pretty heavy compared to those two. between the two, i'd lean more towards slax. it's worked for me so far.

oh, and for installation guides, just read the manual's (RTFM? ) and instructions on the site

puppy linux siyaro... but you shud give xubuntu a try first.

g-tang2x ang Hdd (gkan sa laptop) then taud sa PC (with hdd converter ) then install XP SP1.

try windows 7.. hehe or win98..

try windows 7 (if it meets the minimum requirements)

1. download Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool from Microsoft (freetool)
(this tool will copy all installation files from your Win 7 CD)
Microsoft Store: Download Manager Help

2. Change your boot priority to USB..insert your flash drive formated with win 7 iso files
3. Then use updates to install all the drivers...
