The point is that Christmas did not come from the Christian religion but just patterned from the pagan ancient religions.
Merry Chrsitmas anyway!

And so if the birth of Jesus was set to coincide with the Sun, who wrote the Gospels? Maybe the sun concept was borrowed to help people relate to Him. What about all the people who witnessed Jesus?!?

The year of Christ's birth
Neither the Bible nor the early Church fathers mentioned the date of Jesus' birth, although they did provide details of the circumstances surrounding His birth.
Why this omission? In the case of the Church fathers, the reason is that, during the three centuries after Christ's life on earth, the event considered most worthy of commemoration was the date of His death. In comparison, the date of His birth was considered insignificant. As the Encyclopedia Americana explains, "Christmas... was, according to many authorities, not celebrated in the first centuries of the Christian church, as the Christian usage in general was to celebrate the death of remarkable persons rather than their birth..." (1944 edition, "Christmas").
So how was the year determined for His birth? In 525 Pope John I commissioned the scholar Dionysius Exiguus the task of establishing a feast calendar for the Church. Dionysius also estimated the year of Christ's birth, but through several errors in his calculations arrived at a date at least a few years later than the actual event.

I love when my neighbors ask us, "where is my Christmas gift"?; "Merry X-mas, give me money." my wife explains sorry we do not celebrate X-mas. Their reply is always the same, " Oh you do not believe in God?" Classic
We smile and bite our lips. We do not tell them that it is because we read the bible for ourselves. That we do not do Christmas because it is a Pagan holiday. That Christ was born in late Summer or early Fall and not during the Mid-Winter Festival of Saturnalia. The misunderstanding of Christmas is as strong here as in the United States and Europe.
There is no Satan Clause, Eostre Bunny, Hallow-e'en, or Nimrod's Valentine's day practiced in our household.
so you do not celebrate Christmas because Christmas is not written in the Bible? wow it must be a depressing feeling inside your house knowing that 80-90% of the population outside it celebrates Christmas. your household is the last place i wanna be come Christmas time.![]()
how boring is the culture inside your house.. religion is culture, its not absolute.. and there's nothing wrong with having some celebration rooted from culture.. celebration and fiesta is what adds spice to one's life.. so i take it you do not celebrate any form of fiesta (feast) too? not even sinulog (if you were in cebu)? or fiesta in your local baranggay?
