    what's next? Airlines? Aerospace? Engineering?

What an IDIOT trying to biased all things. If we were keen to avoid certain topics, it was probably more because it embarrassed us.

an object without visual component. You can have data and logic. i would imagine that it can create class as like vb/delphi.

I'm not reading the article just reading the code write away.
    Sybase.com

You can share/distribute the non-visual object too:
    SpringerLink - Journal Article

I can understand why PB has so many followers until now.

(Help! PB programmer should explain better)

Don't worry mark, I am reliable

Big banks, investment and commercial. Example? Barclays and BlackRock.

(You can also check with BPI. I saw the screen of the manager and it 'was' powerbuilder)

I told you to search powerbuilder jobs in google and you will see and that's a good evidence already. "Dont understimate the intelligence of the masses" you know.

It's not 'must' use, I am sure some other tools can do these too. The question is how convenient it it to the developers? PB is not a "general" tool, you know. General means can do everything, master of none. These tools are created for convenience. Trimming down unnecessary fetures and adding features that makes sense for the usage. Yes flexibility might suffers, but they focus on how the tool should work (PB is focus in db and hoping a CEO could create pb program .

Companies such tools for convenience. Convenience is proportional to productivity. Profit.

In short there is an always place for powerbuilder.

You're comfortable with your tool? Fine. Just respect what others have.

yeah, but how does it do that? thru powerscript?

msaccess can do that also.. declare non-visual objects thru visual basic..
it has its own sets of controls and UIs..

what does PB do that sets it apart?
