Default J_Amarillo's Guide to Battlefield: Vietnam

So do I.. all I do is point and shoot.. but following wing commander style... shooting ahead of where the enemy is going..

But thanks to the guide... I think I could be a bit comfortable in playing the game.. I have observed the same thing.. though... but all that matters to me.. is the strategy used... well it is also mentioned... but since bots can't understand what we are trying to tell them... we might as well do things ourselves... hehehe..

ok ok... i'll post some of my tips and opinions of the game... most of the general details are up na pero i'll add some...

the sa-7 (heat seeking missle of the NVA) is very2x inaccurate two targets a huey and a PB you wanna shoot down the huey aim at it but the thing is it swerve's like hell and hits the PB istead stupid russian technology... <-- toink... but at least it's better that not having anything to shoot down us flying jocks...

the only advice that i can give you when using the SA-7 or any other heatseeking weapon system in vietnam is to take time in aiming and firing... just take time and find the best oppertunity to fire... pero if you want a 80% chance of hitting something you can do two things the first one would be firing ahead of the target and the other one is to shoot it down when it's heading towards you... as in eye-to-eye... then you'll have no probs in shooting them down...

after that's done we'll go to my favorite part of BFV "dog fighting"...

The U.S has the F-4 Phantom and the Corsair, the F-4 is fastest thing in the U.S arsenal better yet the whole game... Armnaments are two heatseeking missle's and it's secondary weapon is of course "napalm"... While the Corsair has the twin aa guns and the dumb bomb... when using the F-4 always check your radar gyud if you see something coming towards you fire your missles it'll hit gyud head on... that's good only for long-medium range shots but when your close... "damn" it's really hard... fire a missle at close range when the both of you are turing there's a big chance of it going wide... the only thing you have to do is to cut down some speed and shoot and hope to god that it'll hit... the worst thing about it due to the Phantom's speed you'll likely be in fornt of your target instead of you chasing him from behind... the solution again for that is cutting the speed so that you will still be the one chasing him instead of the other way around...

We'll that's about it for the Phantom... the rest are more or less shoot in front as krusade said "wing commander style" basta remember lang speed is the Key compensate lang gyud in every encounter... Remember F-4's the fastest, then the 21, the corsair and the 17 are more or less the same...

how to evade them is the other fun part... don't go crazy or you'll likely end up hitting the ground or worse hitting someone else if it's the other side ok lang pero if it's your teamm8 now thats bad...

wala man guy chaff and flares...

we'll have the "Evasion" part some other time...

and i thought the secondary fire of F-4 are chaffs lolz.. di man gud ko kita nga mo explode.. again i do first person views when piloting a plane... nag praktis ko gamay dire sa balay uy!!! last time di ko kasabot sa controls... sigi lang ko ka crash!!! waaaaaaaaaahhhhh

    unsa diay nang AA?

how does the spotter-artillery team-up work? if maka spot ang imo kauban.. makita sa map ang location sa enemy?!?

    Anti-Air = AA

Spotter-Artillery duo? yep.. one spots..orders strike on location by using the binoculars to locate enemy position. Artillery right-clicks, and see a bird's eye view, of enemy location.
this is the line --------- cross it. i dare you

ok thanks i get it... how about if mag right click ang artillery without a spotter? walay makita? does the spotter-artillery duo have to be near each other or pwede bisag unsa ka layo?

bisag layo kaayo ok ra lisod lang kaayo bai hehehe sayon kung duol pero kung layo whew lisod kaayo.. anyway that is only useful for big games.. like they only have 1 spawn pt. left and 32 members of that team spawn from the same area.. man 1 mortar round can take out 6 in a shot my bro and i do it to AI all the time

Actually, Zerone_Null, the artillery is useful even on smaller games (e.g. the 10 on 10 games we play in the LAN party). It's useful for creating chokepoints. By aiming the artillery at one path, you force the enemy to take another path.

As for choosing targets to spot, well... The best targets are commonly travelled paths. Don't target mobile targets (e.g. tanks) because it's really hard to hit them. Instead, target the path they must travel through.

Another thing... The artillery is very useful on ground maps. It's near worthless in air-to-air maps (e.g. Flaming Dart).

By the way, Wurz... Despite its powerful napalm, the F4 Phantom is best used as an air-to-air fighter. It only carries 3 napalm bombs, making it a really crappy air-to-ground weapon...

hey it's a great air-to-ground weapon... you could also use the air to air missles with ground targets esp with tanks... you don't really have to aim at it... just make sure that there are no other potential targets around it... heatseeking man gud... as for the napalam... drop it before the supposed target only the back part of the blast do the biggest damage the initial one only hurts you a little bit...

sunod nasad how to pick up stuff using the Huey's and Chinook...

besides you can reload man you ammunition... by flying low around a ammo crate... or anywhere with an ammo crate can immediately reload your plane but it takes a pass or two to get fully loaded back again...
