as expected. typical reaction of people who can't verify their claims. i doubt if your really a true christian coz it appears you don't really believe in Him.

I doubt if you're also a true Christian. A true Christian -- be it a protestant or a Catholic -- is not blinded about realities.

And the reality is that God IS NOT the author of the bible. Let's not have these delusions that God himself wrote the bible.

The bible is a compilation of books that have been written by men throughout the centuries. And whatever was written on the bible is dependent on the cultural and political situation during the period it was written. No one can debate on this as it is simply the absolute truth.

And yes, as what the other istoryan said, the bible itself is full of inconsistencies albeit even immoral passages but then this does not make it a lesser book or a "faulty" book. It just depends on how you apply and interpret the passage.

But then again, "literally translating" the bible can also be very dangerous as doing such will just result in a "new religion" or a new strange sect.

Proof of this would be the number of protestant churches that have been sprouting, sometimes in conflict with each other.

my opinion...the bible is a book of myth. Well, its good for inspiration however if taken seriously as the absolute truth like what others do here, would sound incongruous.
