    mundane and repetitive jobs can be taken up by robots..ako mismo kita sa transformation from a manual line with 15 people to an automated line with only 3 people..

    and to those who said na "in the future"..intawn oi, hagbay ra ang mga robot naa diria..bag-o pa gani ko ga-repair sa usa..hehe..
    problem is, ang perception sa robot kay kanang naa sa terminator or sa star wars..pero in reality, they are just simple robotic arms programmed to do specific task..for example, folding a packaging.., flipping a bottle, placement of IC in the motherboard..mao na ang mga robots mga pare..naa daghan ana sa MEPZA where i am now as an engineer..
    sample o->

    thanks..

    what i'm trying to say is that, technological progress such as automation is actually detrimental to our current system were people need jobs to put food on their table.

    Imagine if programmers develop a sophisticated software that efficiently replaces call center agents. Daghan mawad-an trabaho, and i think that's a paradox.

    pro ang kanang switching sa telephone [dnt really know the details]
    tao bya tong nag buhat like sa movie valkyrie. krn mechanized na.

    pwede man maghimo cla software as long as naa sad bago nga trabaho mo puli ky sa krn dependent man ang basic necessities sa trabaho. nindot gyud dli nata mo trabaho nya ato buhaton is mo perfect ta sa unsa ato gusto. hehe.

    hellow vanschen, you're right about the telephone switching system..but the "mechanized" system you've mentioned is also a thing of the past.. we started on manual system (tawo ra ang nag-operate sa switchboard), then nag-mechanized ta, mao ni gitawag og electromechanical switching..the above examples are already a thing of the past..next to come up was the electronic switches but not purely digital by that time..for now, we are now on digital age wherein our analog (voice, sounds, dial tones, etc.) are converted to purely digital signals, wherein it will be processed by digital switches (electonics gihapon with firmware/softwares on board), then transmitted to the desired destination using various protocols (i.e., IP address for IP phones) or by using some older systems integrated (country codes, local area codes, etc.)..then re-convert it to analog form at the destination.. the above description is just a simplified description of what you are referring to.
    Thanks..

    OT: i'm sorry for the off-topic, but i just would like to share this with you guys from my ancient book, "I, Robot"

    The Three Laws of Robotics by Isaac Asimov:

    1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
    2. A robot must obey any orders given to it by human beings, except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.
    3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.
