In my opinion, we can have election every month but it won't solve our problem (rampant corruption) because the same corrupt officials are running gikan sa amahan, anak, igsoon, igagaw, hangtod na sa mga apo nagpuli-puli lang ug dagan. The philippines need to cleanse itself of contaminated blood(trapos). What we need is a revolution so all this corrupt politicians are lined up against the wall and executed by firing squad.

Bluebird we would have to all commit suicide or have a revolution and shoot each other because this problem is not limited to the politicians, it's a cultural problem. We have taken love for family, which is supposed to be an admirable Filipino trait, and turned it into the monster called political dynasties. Let's face it, political dynasties wouldn't have happened were it not for our intense family values where even distant cousins are treated as part of our family. How often do we see Pinays when they marry a rich foreigner, turn around and support their 2nd degree cousin who has been unemployed for years and doesn't bother to look for a job?

In summary, we as a people are too family-centric. Too much of anything is bad, if we love our families too much to the point where we are willing to let them take advantage of us, then it's no longer a value but a vice. Our obsession with helping kamaganak, inc. is the reason why even so-called "clean" Presidents like Cory could still be saddled with corruption scandals caused by her family members.

Let's just face it, we have always had a defective culture of selfish family-based greed. Since the times of the datus, when a person comes to power, he always brings his family with him, who then lord it all over everyone else. That's why the Spaniards found it so easy to conquer us, we were divided into a collection of greedy families and tribes back then, and we continue to be this way even in the modern day. It's only a matter of time before a much larger, more organized and nationalistic country like China will be tempted to invade us because we are easy pickings....

Loren is the worst trapo there is. Who could forget her crying episodes when they ousted Erap, then she went back to their fold. Then she became part of the authors of the call for investigating Villar, nya karon asa naman sad sya?
