HP Laptops: Malfunctions and other Hardware problems

daghan sa mga dv models problematic. dili tanan. pero daghan. iv check many forums mainly sa HP website. a lot of people having the same problems as mine. sa mga owners na wa ma tymingan, swerte mo. pero sa amo duha jud ni defective. bisan kinsa man sad cguro mka experience ana, mu tagam jud. dako na kwarta bya na na usik..

friend of mine has a HP DV7 bought oct. 2008. Only a few months after buying that very shiny thing, he had to send it in for warranty work coz motherboard was defective.
My neice bought a Toshiba laptop here in cebu. dont know what model though but she had to send it in for warranty work also after a few months only.

SquareTrade analyzed as many as 30,000 new laptops based on their warranty plans and number of claims, they’ve compiled the following Laptop & Netbook reliability comparison and survey, the highlights of the study include:

-Looking at the first 3 years of ownership, 31% of laptop owners reported a failure to SquareTrade. Two-thirds of this failure (20.4%) came from hardware malfunctions, and one-third (10.6%) was reported as accidental damage.

-Netbooks are projected to have a 20% higher failure rate from hardware malfunctions than more expensive laptop computers.

-ASUS and Toshiba were the most reliable manufacturers, with fewer than 16% having a hardware malfunction over 3 years.

I think it's a Microsoft issue. Blame in on your OS.
Try installing Ubuntu or other open source OS.

I had my HP on dual boot. No problem.

nakaTulo na lage kog laptop na Toshiba pero d mag dugay..
I mean, unsa guba ani guys?
after a year or 2, mo kalit ra sya off..
mag start sya cge ka-hang.. tapos, mohinay na... nya kalit off
tas kanang d na ma-on balik...

Murag pang businessmen ra man tingali ning Toshiba, d sya pwede sa kanang 24/7 na gamit.. kay ang HP sa ako igsoon, pila na to ka years, buhi ra man gyapon..

Unsaon gyud ba padugay sa life sa laptop?

hi share sad ko HP DV6000 series sa akong amigo....

1st issue - sound/audio bisan unsaon og install and reinstall dili gyud madala, spend 3k -5k for parts and labor sa n genius

2nd issue - wifi, just died or disappeared sa device manager, dili nagyud ma detected

3rd issue - MOBO died - giparepair napud nabalikan na

4th issue - and 1st issue ni balik and lcd flex cable na putol....

BUY MO HP DV series.... every month lain2x gyud issue.... very nice...

naa sad uban dv series ok ra... pero ma timingan pud ka ka-igit gyud og danggit... hasol kau...

im using HP karon pwera buyag no problems

depende ra gyud siguro na mga bro ug sis..my laptop has been on for more than 8 hours in a day for more than a year pero wala gyud tawn nagproblema..mid-range lang tawn ning akong laptop pero fighter kaau..

and depende sad guro na sa paggamit..

-yep, in my laptop's case nga kalit wa ka detect sa sound card murag possibly microsoft issue cya. mao man pud duda sa nga tao did2 sa HP forums. wa pa pud ko ka suway install ubunto. pero suwayan ko na.

pero ang sa ako manghud na laptop ka duha na namatyan ug mobo, di jud to software. problema jud sa iya design. daghan kau same cases in ato.

- ang dv6000 series isa pud na sa models na daghan nagka problema based sa mga forums. under warranty pa na laptop sa imo migo bai? mas maayo ana, ipa repair tanan guba mintras warranty pa, then ipa baligya nlng.
