The purpose of playing and critiquing is to have the maestro point out to you which parts of your actual playing you need to improve and he can show you the why and how and any bad playing habits that are dtrimental to your playing can be pointed out to you as well. Its a neccessity if you want to improve yourself.
For example, I haven't played solo guitar in years, and right now i'm getting back into it and I find out that my precision and dexterity are not what it used to be. So my main question to him right now is what should I be doing to develop both my precision playing and stamina of my hands, to get back to it quicker.
Everyone who has a question on playing and technique, should voice it out there, because he can help you wherever your playing level is.
it is not a question of how good you are or how so much better others are, it is a question of what you personally can learn from the guy and what you want to learn, simply by asking about it.
Guys !! Sori to disappoint you like this, but I just talked to prof. Valdez and he wants to concentrate on the classical (nylon) guitar lang gyud.
So sory kaayo sa kad2ng nag expect ug acoustic steel.
You are still invited to watch the master class though.
