I had experienced that when I stayed in the remote place of Mindanao wherein among sud-an sa buntag kay kanang asin ra gyod then pagkaudto kay inun-unan nga baki then panihapon kay linaga nga tangad. Yes life for them is very hard according to our perception but again they are happy!

I experienced that previously during my trekkings in Mindanao where sometimes we spend three days hiking and negotiating grueling routes. Mokamang gud ko sa una kon moagi mi anang logs nga ga bridge between cliffs but later on daganon na lang even wearing boots. Experience is the best teacher ika nga! Next target will be Tabunan where the remaining forest of Cebu is located. I hope even if can not see them, hearing the song of siloy is already enough for me.

I could recall when I was a civil engineering faculty member of CIT when about 200 4th year and 5th year CE students joined me in an overnight hiking from Punta Princesa - Buhisan - Pamutan - Bocaue - Babag 1 - Tops - Busay - Jy Square route. We were in Pamutan area when the students were already gasping for air in our climb and some have difficulty in climbing when a group of older mountain folks (50 to 70 yrs old range) overtook us and naglukdo pa gyod ug mga baligyaon like mango, gabi, ubi, saging mais and etc. Naulaw tawon ang mga batan-on but I told them this is not our fold. Wala ta masanay ini kay dili ni atong teritoryo.
