Actually, your question can also extend to those who don't believe. How sure are you that the Scripture is not inspired by the Word of God? How sure are you that science will not be able to uncover anything that would prove the real existence of God or even just the people in the Bible, such as Jesus?

People here--even those who are Christians or Catholics--always try to play "genius." Like you imply, they like to play "know it all" just because there is a Scripture. I am a Christian, and I do believe in the Bible, but I also read science to strengthen my faith. I would just like to comment, though, that there are also atheists, skeptics, and freethinkers who believe that science has already covered everything. If you believe that man is prone to commit mistakes or to sin--accidentally or deliberately--then you should also be open to the fact that science can also be wrong.

I am not condemning anyone, but I would just like to hope that once and for all, let's stop pretending we know everything. The threads give us so much room to debate, unfortunately, on almost the same general topic: Is there God? And the issue never closes, until it reaches a point that people start to attack one another rather than discuss intelligently. It seems that no one can be converted here to the other party. Nonbelievers cannot convince believers, believers cannot convince nonbelievers.

I would also like to suggest everyone to read further. Before nonbelievers condemn Catholics and Christians, take time to read the Bible (comprehensively) or even just research more about the relationship between science and the Bible. There are a lot of materials in the World Wide Web. It's also the same thing for believers. Know the real reason why nonbelievers are what they are now. Hopefully, both parties will be able to understand where the other is coming from, and there will be more respect and less personal attacks here.
