The Le Cercle Culinaire of the Tourism and Hospitality Management Department, USJ-R College of Commerce clinched the 1st place in the Regional Finals, and 4th place in the National Finals of the Goldilocks Intercollegiate Cake Decorating Competition.
Proponents of the USJ-R team were Jansen Tan, Dave Daryl Gelaga, Honey Lee Buenaobra, and Rose Jane Quinapondan. They were coached by Mr. Steven Sasam, Mrs. Elinor Tapere, Ms. Grace Lacson, Ms. Deborrah Gandiongko, and Mr. Loren Paul Escalante. Chef Cherly Ann Sedazo and Chef Adonis Bonsucan were the alumni consultants of the contestants.

40 schools nationwide participated in the National Finals of the said competition producing a total of 90 entries. The national leg of the competition was held at Glorietta Center, Manila on March 15, 2009.
