I would not question about where Tomas got the money for his sons schooling.
There are student loans/grants available as long as you are a resident/ US citizen. This is payable when you start working and they will track you down via social security number for your payment.
Another thing too is it's rather cheap for a resident to go to school in his/her area. If ibutang ta, $100.00 ang per unit sa non-resident, half price ra para sa residents. Dako dako pod ug difference sa tuition oi.

Maybe Miguel is working pod diay. normal ni sa mga students didto, nigita ug job para pang allowance.

I took a course didto sa US, I worked 5 days a week and went to school on the weekends. Wa hinoon ko ni kuha ug student loan kay naka afford man ko sa akong classes because of my job.
